If Darius Guice is there at 27 you can not pass him up. This is another Deuce McCalister type dude. He just way outproduced Deuce in college. Heck he outplayed Leonard Fournette in college. IF DARIUS GUICE IS AVAILABLE AT 27 PICK HIM! We picked Deuce at I think 22 when we had Ricky Williams coming off like a 1500 yd rushing season and can we agree Deuce was a good pick?

I agree with your reasoning.

See last year we had Ingram and Peterson...
We make some trades and draft a RB... Kamara.

And we all know how that turned out. You stay true to the board and draft BPA needs be damned.

Re: Draft breakdown: Running back is one of the few spots Saints should avoid early in draft

Just don't see the need to ever take a RB in the first round - ever...

This is a West Coast passing league now - QBs, CBs, DEs, OL are the premium positions now...

Kamara, as great as he was, fell to the third round before we traded back into the draft...

But, for the record, Kareem Hunt was still on the board when we took Anzalone...

in the scenario I would 100% trade back

with only 1 pick in the top 90 we need someone who will see the field

If Mayfield somehow fell, I think you pull the trigger; we wouldn't have to change our offense to slide him in once Drew is done...

But totally agree, we still need front seven help on defense, interior offensive line with those Day 1 and 2 picks...

The past few years have shown us the importance of a dominant running game. Guice would be a steal at 27. If the right offer doesn’t show up I say you have to draft him. He is a game changer and from Louisiana. No doubt we are stacked but could you imagine Guice and AK for the next 3-5 years....

SP could not send his pick up any faster if Mayfield was there.

Lol by all accounts Mayfield isn’t falling past the Jets at 3.

Where does that leave Ingram? This FO will not let Ingram go until the reason to is clear.

the reason to let ingram go would be a trade, trade 1st rd picks with pats and get a 2nd for him. deal done. rbs are a dime a dozen.

David Johnson
Tevin Coleman
Jordan Howard
Darren Sproles
Kamara
K Hunt
Dion Lewis

Good value can be found in later rounds on quality RB's. Philly won the SB with a nice duo of Ajayi & L Blount (both drafted in lower rounds). Pass on a RB in the 1st round.

Go get you another big ugly (offensive lineman) or DT if they are the best available player on your board at 27.

Running backs that know the Saints offense and can contribute in every phase (running, receiving, pass blocking) are not that plentiful.

Given that Ingram gets the lions share of touches for the offense, even in games he shouldn't, he's not going anywhere.

Re: Draft breakdown: Running back is one of the few spots Saints should avoid early in draft

Nobody is giving up a 1st or 2nd for Ingram. If the best player on the board is a RB and no good trade offers are there then take him if he is a pure runner.

Ingram has suffered injuries during his career. His age is getting up there and his contract escalating. Im all for keeping him but you've got to be looking a couple of years down tbe line

Exactly the type of player the Patriots part ways with......

Let him play out his last year. It's a whole new year next year.

I doubt he is there but if he is it would be stupid to pass on him. Ingram is perfectly ripe for a trade. Another year not so much. If we got him at 27 then traded Ingram with another pick to get back in the 2nd where the real value is located...that would be to good to be true IMO.

I'd draft a productive FullBack with great hands late though...

No. 201 (R6, 27) FB Ryan Nall, Oregon St.; Height: 6’ 2”; Weight: 237 lbs.
