New Orleans Saints pre-draft depth chart: Offensive linemen
1 Attachment(s)
The New Orleans Saints featured one of the best offensive lines in the NFL in 2017, and one decision in last year’s draft was a key reason for the stellar play.
Although offensive tackle didn’t seem like the biggest need at the time, the Saints looked ahead with the knowledge that right tackle Zach Strief, 33 at the time, could be playing in his final season and that left tackle Terron Armstead had dealt with injuries throughout his career. So, with the 32nd overall pick, the Saints drafted Ryan Ramczyk, and he proceeded to start all 16 games as Strief and Armstead dealt with injuries. The selection of Ramczyk somehow became a bit overlooked because Alvin Kamara and Marshon Lattimore both won Rookie of the Year awards, but Ramczyk’s contributions were just as important. Now, thanks to the selection of Ramczyk last year, the Saints are set with starters along the line for 2018, but that doesn’t mean the team will ignore the group in this year’s draft. With less than two weeks remaining before the draft, we’ll analyze the Saints’ needs at each position. The 10-part series continues with offensive linemen. http://image.nola.com/home/nola-medi...f6a8b91765.jpg Saints depth chart C Max Unger T Terron Armstead T Ryan Ramczyk G/T Andrus Peat G Larry Warford T/G Jermon Bushrod C Cameron Tom G/T John Fullington G Andrew Tiller T John Theus G Landon Turner G Nate Theaker Potential Day 1 (first round) selections G Quenton Nelson, Notre Dame T Mike McGlinchey, Notre Dame G Will Hernandez, UTEP T Kolton Miller, UCLA G Isaiah Wynn, Georgia C James Daniels, Iowa T Connor Williams, Texas Potential Day 2 (rounds 2-3) selections T Orlando Brown, Oklahoma T Tyrell Crosby, Oregon C Billy Price, Ohio State C Frank Ragnow, Arkansas C Martinas Rankin, Mississippi State C Bradley Bozeman, Alabama G Braden Smith, Auburn T Jamarco Jones, Ohio State C Austin Corbett, Nevada T Will Richardson, N.C. I wonder if he is on the Saints radar ??... we do have a good track record with those Buckeye players over the last few years. |

Not too worried about the injury. Dude didn't miss 1 game in 4 years. If a partially torn pec during the Combine drops him to the 3rd, there are 31 really stupid teams who passed on him at least twice if we pull him in the 3rd. It wouldn't shock me at all if we got him at 27. There will be mass griping, but long term it could be highway robbery. |
Re: New Orleans Saints pre-draft depth chart: Offensive linemen
I can see 2 o-line being drafted in rd 4-6. No need drafting early when our starting line up is set. Get Drew’s replacement if possible, a TE or D-line hog. This teams set up for a deep run again.

Re: New Orleans Saints pre-draft depth chart: Offensive linemen
I don't see any need in trying to get Brees' replacement in this draft. The Saints are in position to win NOW. Why waste a draft choice on a player that will absolutely not further that goal of winning now? I say worry about three or four years from now three or four years from now. Let's maximize our chances of winning another Lombardi, or two, while we have our best chance.

Any preference on who helps Brees (assuming we go offense) us at 27? Another WR? TE (Goedert)? Or a offensive lineman? |
