Luke McCown retires

Just read this on PFT. Sort of anti-climatic since he didn't play last year, but I always thought he was a great back-up. Actually surprised he never found a starting role at some point. Wish him all the best in his new endeavours!

Isn't he younger than Brees? Surely he can hold a clipboard a bit longer for what they pay backups.

I was gonna say the Browns but then I realized they go through QBs as often as you post cat pics.

Good luck to Luke. He was a good backup. Nothing but class. And when he did play he played pretty damn good.

Week 3 in 2015 was the last game I recall him playing. Did an admiral job against the Panthers, even though the Saints lost on a late interception. Luke was a class act in my opinion. He had the respect of the coaches and teammates and was a solid team guy. As a back up you aren't going to get the eye-popping numbers, its much more about overall character and sufficient skills to keep the team going if needed. Luke was never going to be a starter in the NFL, but he was excellent in his role. JMHO.....

Thanks for all the chest bumps with Brees. On another vein I like the QB that we signed. I watched Savage play and was impressed with his Moxy before he went on IR with the Texans.
