I think Marcus is going to put all that mess behind him and turn into an all pro before long.

Why are we still discussing it....meh. He did outstanding for a rookie. Learned a valuable lesson; never assume a play is 99% dead. Make sure it's 100 or fail trying.

Agreed. Too bad it didn't happen in October (no one would probably remember). IMO the Eagles were very lucky they got MN instead of the Saints in the NFC title game.

Marcus is solid player & will become a fine pro. Bright future ahead of him :bng:.

I don't doubt it. He's a pro. I'm just still on the fence if it was scripted.:dunce::furious:

That's good because if he does something like that again not only will he be cut by the Saints I would believe his NFL career would be over. Could you imagine signing a guy who lost your playoff hopes in one game and something similar in another one. No you can't!

What do you mean? Because he did look really stupid when it happened. Looked like he was trying to duck under the guy.

It looked to me like he was doing his best not to draw a penalty flag. He needs to learn to wrap up in the tackle. Tackling really is a lost art form in football. If you want to watch good tackling watch a rugby game!

Re: ESPN: Saints' Marcus Williams won't let 'Minnesota Miracle' define him

Poor communication from Payton and Dennis Allen played a part in that as well...

Plus, the offense was rolling and Payton went against his nature and went super conservative running Kamara up the middle...

Forcing us to kick a FG instead of converting a 3rd and short and allowing us to eat up the remainder of the clock then kick...

I mean I was convinced that the whole NFL is fake after that happened. Then I calmed down and realized it couldn't be, due to too many moving parts. But I am still not sure that one and some others aren't fixed. It just looked so incredibly unreal. It still makes my heart sink when I see it.

I have never watched the play again after seeing it live. The same thing with the damned run in the Seattle game. I turn off the TV or leave the room if either ever shows up.

There was still a good chance we was going to lose the Seattle game. We had the Vikings game in the bag. They both sucked though. So did the Davis catches against 49ers. At least we do have the Tracy Porter moment. This year we are going to have more good memories.

You bet we got to do it while Drew can still see the end-zone.
I don't want to see him running around with Chuck Muncie
glasses. Sorry Chuck RIP.

Wouldn't it be great? One of my happiest dreams would watching Roger have to hand Payton the trophy after the way he crippled our team. Especially if we are the first that went to 19-0.

I will gladly settle for a more realistic 16-3

Same here. It happened. Done. Next Season...

The Seattle one stings because they were the only 7-9 team to ever make the playoffs and they beat us as the defending champs.

There is a problem with that theory.

As the Saftey you are the deepest guy... and all you do is tackle in this situation - prevent the big play even if it was a big play like the catch you are to clean it up not be 'involved'. Its called situation awareness.

Look as if he wanted to have a stake in the play because the catch almost seemed impossible so he went for being involved and lost track of the 'situation awareness'. He f'ed up on the plan plan and simple. He takes ownership of it but its time to learn from it and move on.

He basically panicked in the moment and misjudged it.

Got there far too early and tried to stop Diggs from going out of bounds, but missed completely.

Only he knows what happened. Time to drop the whole thing and move on to Lombardi Number II.

If Payton had not called the time out, this play never happened. Sean Payton blew that game, Williams just missed a tackle and contributed to our choke.

Many times a Super Bowl team just misses in a tear jerking situation the year before

I can't think of any other team in 2017 that has that much of bittersweet loss to motivate them all the way to a championship
