because he is a rich old man doesnt make him evil. of course that hasnt been said but it has been alluded to. it doesnt make him the bad man to want to make money. that is usually the point of a buisness. the nfl is a buisness. he is rich more then likely because he worked harder then other people or was more willing to take a chance that most of us are not willing to take. the root of all evil isnt money, but the lack of.

It\'s all perspective spkb25. It\'s unfair to call the guy evil just because he\'s old and rich... OK. He is probably the wealthiest man in the state of LA with the most one-sided and advantageous deals in a league full of them. He made this deal with a former regime and now refuses to negotiate with the current one any further. He won\'t show his books, which isn\'t surprising b/c Forbes has had the team listed in the TOP TEN in PROFITABILITY for years. The State whose money he is taking is one of the poorest in the country, can\'t afford to pay him the money he is demanding, and he knows it. So why is he playing hard ball? To ensure that the Saints stay in New Orleans by not trying to ease the pressure on the State and work out a MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE deal? Or is it to line his already overflowing pockets at the expense of the State and fans of the team? You think he\'s turning his back on the State now for good reasons? Do you think he will be willing to take less later? Old and evil... I don\'t know. Old and greedy - ab-so-f@#$ing-lutely |
