Yes. Before he got here our special teams was costing us games.

They interviewed Westoff on NFL Radio the day the new kickoff rules were announced. He said that he has at least one more year with the Saints.

Somewhat disturbing seeing Kamara on returns. Great results but hope somebody else can fill that role. Would like to hear Westhoff's thoughts on inserting our best RB in there last year.

Highly unlikely we see AK covering kick offs in 2018. And you are right, someone else will fill that void.

That "Someone" needs to hold on to the ball. That's probably why they plugged AK in there.

Payton pulled out all the stops for post season. AK fielding returns was necessary because we stunk at getting good field position after kicks.

I believe that was the reasoning. Do or die, put your best players in the game. Experimenting is over with.

Love hearing that, but I personally cannot stand Ross Tucker. I listen to NFL Radio every day and enjoy every host except for Tucker. Nothing but a blowhard that is not well researched and treats callers like crap ... and he is so dense he probably doesn't even realize.

Okay, Tucker rant over. Sheesh!

Edit: No I'm not. Usually offensive linemen are the most intelligent players on the team. Tucker played guard and center. Got that one wrong.

One Tough Hombre..
In 1988, Westhoff was diagnosed with cancer of the femur in his left leg. Originally, the condition was misdiagnosed and Westhoff was nearly fatally wounded after the doctor accidentally cut one of his arteries. Once the correct diagnosis was made Westhoff underwent ten surgeries to remove the cancer and the bone replacing it with bone grafts, plates, screws and pins. A cracked bone graft in 2007, caused Westhoff to announce his departure from the Jets.In 2008, Westhoff entered the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to undergo a procedure to replace the missing femur with a titanium rod.After vigorous rehabilitation, Westhoff was able to walk again and returned to the Jets' sidelines in September 2008. :Source Wiki
