It’s not that uncommon actually... I think the Pats cancelled their whole mini-camp.

Not that weird.

Teams generally cancel that thrid practice. Especially if they got out of the first couple of days what they wanted to see. Browns cancelled theirs as well that I know of already.

Could be. Sometimes when a team is doing good work, the last day of minicamp is cancelled as a reward.

The Patriots and Dolphins cancelled their last day of OTA's as well.

Starting their summer break a little early. Don't think it's a big deal.

Quite the opposite. Cancelling the last day of mini camp usually means they had accomplished everything they wanted to accomplish and let everyone go early. If I'm not mistaken the Saints cancelled the final day of mini camp a few years back and everyone went to a go-kart track or something similar.
