Best Back Tandem
Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram are rated as the number one running back tandem in the NFL which is awesome! However, the rest of the top backs tandems are on teams that are on our schedule this year. As I watched a segment about the top tandems I started noticing that we will be on the field with some serious running talent and good running teams ate our lunch last year running up the middle. Stopping the run was probably our biggest deficiency on defense.
We brought in Davis to play MLB which should help with the run game but we also have a much improved D-line so maybe running up the gut won't be as easy this year. None the less this insight makes me nervous. |
Re: Best Back Tandem
And looking at what we've brought in, I'm not sure there's any team that can say they've got what we've got under contract one though four/five at RB...

Week #5 expect Ingram to run like his hair is on fire. |
Re: Best Back Tandem
Hope he can find some linemen to run into while he's out. Anything to have himself football tough/ready when he returns.

Re: Best Back Tandem
Just as kind of an aside, Boston Scott gets the Darren Sproles comparisons due to his smaller stature... But Scott posted this pic recently on Twitter with Brees and Sproles:

Best Back Tandem........Yes

Re: Best Back Tandem
West is no joke either. He's no Rhodes scholar that's for damn sure but, younger than MI and can hold his own with good blocking. Also a decent pass catcher. I think he will surprise a lot of people.
