Sleepers
WR Eldrige Massington

It will be hard to make the roster at wide receiver, but the undrafted rookie out of UCLA had an impressive summer and made a lot of plays. There is a lot of intriguing talent at this position, including Travin Dural and Keith Kirkwood, which should make for an interesting summer.

And I somewhat agree with the article on "bubble players" ...

DE/LB Hau’oli Kikaha
WR Tommylee Lewis

Top battles
Backup quarterback

Taysom Hill is probably the biggest curiosity surrounding this team right now. So, when camp opens, a lot of attention will be paid to him and his battle with Tom Savage to serve as Drew Brees’ top understudy. Winning is important for Hill's development so he can get more practice reps during the season.

Two Problems with Massington; first, is that he has little to no production (far less than even Kamara had at UT); second, he's been especially injury-prone because of his slight frame and lack of weight room time...

Add WR Brandon Coleman (mentioned), CB P.J. Williams, and RB Trey Edmunds could be released...

Also, consider a possible upset with A.J. Klein, factoring his salary cap number, especially if he misses camp time with injury...

Ironically, you're gonna see how good this roster is by the quality of players released this year vs the past four years...

But in this day and age of the cap, isn't 4M kind of cheap for a linebacker?

I hope AJ can stay healthy & we keep him for 2018. It's a long, hard season & you need veterans you can trust in late December & into January.

I just want to see him so people will stop arguing as to weather or not he’s any good. I have my doubts about the hype.

Same here.

From what I've read so far, Hill is far away from starting or even "backup" caliber material. He's simply not there yet. At the end of the day, Taysom is a UDFA that will have to scratch and claw for a roster spot in 2018. He's a good story but most folks (myself including) don't understand how raw, unpolished & how much work he needs to become a competent QB at this level. Undrafted QB's who play on special teams becoming good starting QB pretty much never.

It will be fun to watch him at camp though :bng:.

Perhaps they plan on replacing Ingram’s role by committee? Vereen for catching and someone like Edmunds for tough yards? Sounds predictable I know but could work.
