Sean Payton on why Marcus Davenport was the Saints trade he simply couldn't pass up

You have to make the move when you feel the talent is there to not pass up. If Davenport becomes the elite edge rusher to complement Jordan over the next several years (as I believe he will) then even three late first rounds picks are more than worth the price.

Irregardless of how I feel about the pick, that's several minutes of my life I'll never get back; told me nothing but a rambling of Payton double-speak...
LaCanfora may be good at getting gossip, but the man cannot write, nor tell a compelling story... |

Davenport is the real deal. We overpaid but it was the one piece we had to have. Can't double team two strong edge rushers. Somebody is busting up in there.

After three or four pro bowl snubs because he's a Saint and then he's a Hall of Famer!:p
