Ingram might need to be a bit worried. The running back position is changing in the league

It is changing into exactly what he is ... a back that can run up the middle or outside ... a back that can pass block or lead block in a two back set ... a back that can execute the screen or the sweep ... a back that can slip into the slot and run the route tree.

There isn't another RB on the roster that is further along in that trend than mark Ingram. He isn't worried about ANY of the others supplanting him at this point.

Disagree. MI is competitive and he's always gonna look over his shoulder - if he's not, then everyone should be worried...

But, I'm sure he's confident he's got the experience and skills to be the best fit this season at TB for this team...

I guess that didn't come across completely as I meant, at least the last bit. I wasn't implying that he would ever be complacent. That isn't in his nature. I was trying to reflect upon that confidence that you mentioned. He can only be that confident because of the hard work he puts into his craft. I'm looking forward to the results all of that time he put in with the route running and speed experts while others were going through "freshman orientation" at the OTA's. I can see him shifting out of 11 personnel into the slot going four wide and running a regular route more often. That was more of a Kamara type move. Hopefully this makes them even that much more interchangeable.

In fact, out of a 21 personnel they could have either one of the two, or both, shift out and REALLY put the defense in a bind. I don't know of ANY of the other backs on the roster that can give the offense that much versatility.

Damn I'm getting excited.

Oh Yeah! Depth of this roster has me pumped. This draft is still in the back of my mind, but I'm optimistic in spite of what I feel could have been...

Besides his all-around game at RB, Vereen is also a special teamer and I like that he's been in the Patriots' system...

I'm waiting to see them with my own two eyes.......which is looking like it won't be at camp. I'm hoping one of them balls out for us and helps keep the same flow that the backs had last year.
