Taysom Hill focused on mastering Saints offense in first full offseason with team

With Tom Savage out of the New Orleans Saints' second practice of training camp Friday (July 27), backup quarterback Taysom Hill relished the opportunity for more reps as a passer.
The second-year player out of BYU had few with New Orleans last year as he spent his 2017 training camp with the Green Bay Packers before the Saints claimed him off waivers before the start of the regular season. https://expo.advance.net/img/b4ddeb3...y20180790.jpeg "That what it's all about," Hill said. "It's one thing to be able to sit in the classroom and to learn everything you're supposed to do, but until you actually have an opportunity to get out on the field and rep it and see everything happen it's really hard to cement that in your head, and so that's been a ton of fun." Hill said it has been a great experience watching Drew Brees work this offseason and implementing what he learned. Hill has been focused on ensuring he's well-versed in the "little nuances" of the Saints offense. He also has been working on his footwork. Quote:

Having a fast QB as the holder. Really have to go for it more often if that goes down. Nice tool to have in the tool bag.

McCarthy outsmarted himself by waving Callahan and Hill. I'm sure he thought the Saints would grab Callahan again. Evidently he hasn't heard of the "Fake Nose & Mustache Glasses" used in "Sneaking" players through waivers.
