This was really the only thread of relevance after weeks of being away. And honestly, this has already been debated. It's Rodgers. Has Brees carried us on his back to the playoffs with a bad defense?

I get what you are saying but GB bad defense and our past bad defense, are two way different things. Rodgers has had Jordy Nelson, Cobb, Adams 3 very good receivers. And I am sure Rodgers makes them look better than they are just like Brees does. I honestly don't think Rodgers could have even kept up with anyone else had he had our defense. Our team is a lot alike to GB, both teams only need a decent D to be successful and make a playoff run.

I love Brees and what he does for us, but Rodgers throws less picks.

Are you comparing them at age 35? If so I’d say Brees.

We’ll see where AR is by age 39. As it stands Brees is on the verge of owning several more new NFL records....

If being completely unbiased, its a PUSH between the QBs at this point. Both have different styles of play and different offensive systems. Brees has better QB stats and records and Rogers has 2 MVPs with more pro bowl WRs. You can say I cherry-picked the above stats to make my argument but I don't care. Brees has done more with less and carried the Saints for several lackluster seasons in his tenure. How many other QBs could have taken the 2012 Saints team with the worst defense in NFL history for giving up yards and still managed a 7-9 record? We almost made it to .500 that season. Let that sink in for a minute. I'm not here to say that Rodgers isn't one of the best QBs to play the game or that he doesn't deserve his success but the numbers/stats/accolades above have not nor will they ever sway me to believe that he is miles better than Brees. Rodgers is a precise, flashy, mobile, and highly marketable player to the league. I do get why he is lauded the way that he is with most NFL fans. However, as you can see with some of the numbers above, I will NEVER be convinced that Drew Brees is not as good or even better in some categories than Aaron Rodgers (even if I am seeing things through my Black & Gold lenses). All in all, I am just a fan of the game itself and love to watch these 2 perfect their craft and be at the top of their game even in their later years. And just for all you "baws" out there, I am not some bandwagon fan who just joined the fan base in '09. Been a fan since my dad sat me down to watch my first Saints game during the Dome Patrol days and I have never looked back nor wavered my fandom.

2017 put the league on notice.
Forget Rodgers. Forget Brady.
2018 is for Drew.

So what say you now?

Brees. He has loving family. Rogers, some aging former B actor GF and now a wanna be moonshine running daisy duke woman who could not out run Boss hog's dog. Brees is also the best QB of all time.

Rodgers's team in 2016 after week 11 was 4-6, the same as the saints for three straight years. What did Rodgers do? Carry the team on his back for a 6-0 run. And had he been healthy in that Carolina game he would have won the last three. Rodgers is on that leadership level of Peyton Manning. What's the saying? No excuses. Let me know when Brees does something like that. It's that stuff right there that separates a QB from others. Rodgers is even better than Brady.

And besides when Rodgers gets done with Kirk Cousins this season, this conversation is over.

Are you insinuating that Cousins is better than Brees? Wth does Cousins have to do with a debate about Brees and Rodgers?

You're just a Brees hater dude. The statistics Smash put up that you were commenting on were pretty convincing. Or at least can play a role in the debate. If you think Rodgers is better, that's fine. Make your point (however moot and irresponsible it is, as usual). But your comment about Cousins is just irrelevant. But then again...so are most of your posts. You're a clown.

God, I almost forgot all about that 51-26 game on Monday night in the Dome. That was so much fun. They kept scoring touchdowns, it was like seeing a heavy metal drummer bang his flaming gong over and over, all night long.

Personally, I'm glad that we have Drew. Diva's turn me off. Never saw Drew doing anything so crude as pretend to put on a heavy weight champion's belt. Much more satisfying to see a guy work at his craft and succeed while having fun without the ego.

They both won 1 Superbowl so they are equally good. WS81, you've used that metric as the end-all-be-all in the past.

I will take Brees all day every day but I do respect Rogers. It will show when we send them home in the playoffs this year.

I know better than to feed the trolls but it's fun to brag and this is too easy. If you ever want to be a good troll, you'll need to learn the subject matter.

In 2006 Brees took over a team that had just gone 3-13 and ranked 31st in offense the previous season. The team had no pro bowlers, only one playoff win in a 40 year history and was the losingest franchise in the NFL. What did Brees do? He put the team on his back, won 10 games, ranked 1st in offense, won the division and took the team to the NFC championship for the first time.

Rodgers turned around a season. Brees turned around a franchise. "It's stuff right there" that separates a great quarterback from a legend.
