Looks like Aron Higgins was let go recently, Holder is leaving for his own reasons but tweeted that the severance of Higgins hot him hard.

The papers are suffering. They let go seasoned talent for younger writers they can get at a lower salary.

I really feel sorry for these guys. The media business has changed completely with technology....not saying its all bad, but getting to be almost impossible to find a stable career for even very talented people. I had breakfast this morning in a local restaurant. The guy beside me was reading a newspaper! Funny how that stands out today! I honestly can't remember the last time I read an actual newspaper.

Holder is an over-rated, over-paid sports hack.

Rarely responded to fans' direct questions on social media, unlike his contemporaries who are more gracious with access...

And when he did respond to some fans he was condescending and arrogant; plus, his analysis was faulty at best...

Truth is - two Advocate reporters are more proficient and prolific than the entire staff at T-P/Nola.com - with one exception...

Jeff Duncan still has balls to pose tough questions to the Saints organization despite insinuated intimidation and threat of access, media credential...

Reality is you have more insightful reporting coming from fans who do this for free, so why pay a guy who's had better access and dull results?
