Boston Scott Made The Team

Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
Love this dude. Walk-on @ La Tech & worked his way to the NFL. Quick in small spaces...he's a perfect fit for this offense & Spec Teams returning kickoffs if needed.

Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
Did we even see Williams?

Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
I doubt we carry two mighty mouses this year........Scott and TLL are short and Payton is a fan of tall players. However, he does also like to see a player disappear behind his blocker, get low and pop out from a hole for a nice gain. He's a joker if you want to call it that. Do we have really a roster spot for two joker players? Also, they are both fighting for the return job.

Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
Between TLL and Boston. I keep Boston.

Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
Boston sure does have a way of making defenders "miss" & he is decisive in his running.

Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
Said it before, Boston Scott, on talent alone, is our third best back behind Kamara, Ingram - and Scott will make Ingram expendable when that expires this year...

Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
Some like Tate as the returner. And he's natural at it. But, Scott looks as good in the return game and has value as a RB. Tate is no where close to making the team as a WR.

Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
I still stand by what I said. If he emerges into a Sproles by week 5 and the market value goes way up for MI, we are price gouging for a 3rd or 2nd. I could also see Meridith being trade bait. Those two trades would give us a clear path to bundle to get back in the first.

Some of you may not remember Joe Morris of the G'nats in the 80s, but Scott is more of a short power back in that comparison... For later generations, while Scott isn't the talent level of Barry Sanders, but he's that style running back, low center gravity, powerful... If Ingram and his agents come out of the gate asking for too much money next season, Scott can step in and get 1300 RuYds... Quote:
But, let me know when you come in for a game and I'll show you the watering holes to get that way... '76, it took Payton six seasons to finally get 1000+RuYds out of Ingram in a Season; he's finally tailored to our offense, but we shouldn't overpay... |
Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
On topic of Ingram ... he looks faster, shiftier, stronger.
It's obvious he's been training hard all off season. Grinder. |

Mark isn't going to get traded & Boston won't turn into Sproles by week 5. Why are you so fixated on getting rid of a guy who is a above average player and can help this team go deep in the post season for 2018? Not sure if you read that link Guido or Oak posted earlier this off season, but the failure rate of draft picks is way too high to risk trading a star player for a couple of draft picks. |

1. Likely overpay on another contract? 2. Let him go and price himself in the open market? 3. Get something in return before the clock runs out? I don't pretend to know the right answer.`But if the Saints determine that they cannot afford to pony up, then isn't it at least sensible to think about what you can get while you can? SFIAH |

I remember Joe and his little brother Jamie who played for the Redskins, unfortunately. LOL I think maybe instead of Sanders we say Maurice Jones Drew. He was about 5'7" I think, but fits the same mold. |
Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
He has the potential to be better than Sproles in terms of production but agree, he's a different player. He was being used as a 3 down style back at times. Sproles really could never pull that off. Sproles was great at knowing when to go down. Boston Scott is not that guy. He will duke it out no problem.
I know it's unlikely the trade happens but if someone offers a 2nd or 3rd we would be fools not to consider it if the run game is clicking. |
Re: Boston Scott Made The Team
It's also unlikely he even becomes a starter in the NFL. But hey, let's hope for the best!
