I like the concept of the article, but not the ideas presented.

OL Joshua Garnett, San Francisco 49ers

The only first round draft pick of the brief Chip Kelly era in San Francisco has had a tough training camp, tweaking an injured knee that cost his entire 2017 campaign and falling behind in the competition to start at right guard. Garnett was a monster in college but doesn’t fit head coach Kyle Shanahan’s outside zone-heavy offense well, and has struggled to execute when on the field. He very likely needs a change of scenery and possibly another opinion on his knee, but given his first round pedigree it would be tough to get him without sacrificing much draft capital. The Saints like what they’ve seen from interior backups Josh LeRibeus, Cameron Tom, and Will Clapp, but I’d love to see how Garnett does again sharing a line with his Stanford teammate, Andrus Peat.

Same blocking scheme we use so why would he fit here?

I wouldn't be surprised to see a trade with a team that was going to cut a player and we don't want to compete for him in free agency. The bottom of the roster will churn heavily for the next few weeks I would imagine. It always does........

Although, we are deeper than we've been in years and do have some trade bait to dangle out there. We will cut several players who should pick up elsewhere......they will most likely be in our division giving up insider info.:roll:
