18-1 Baby! One Step Closer!

Keep Believing!

A record was broken, but more importantly the Saints are starting to roll! The defense made plays. Kamara got a much needed rest. Ingram is back. Davenport is becoming a force. We're not missing Ginn. Taysom is a freakin' monster!

Now a week to rest, get healthy, and come back and run the rack!

Who Dat!

18-1 baby!

Long road to 18-1, but a good game...

It was by far the most complete game the team has played to date. My damn satellite kept cutting out but the defense was hitting hard. Davenport is a beast and our secondary looked the best it has looked in spite of Lattimore going down. Our offense looked to have played flawless. I did see we lost a fumble that resulted in points but it happened when my signal was down. Who wound up fumbling? I would hate to be the guy who made the one big mistake the offense had. Other than that I loved what I saw from Smith and Davenport. If these guys continue to improve our draft might not wind up being so bad.

To be honest it kind of sucks to have the bye week now. It would be nice to keep the momentum going. Any chance we could schedule Alabama or Notre Dame? :)

You can only win one at a time. They have looked progressively better each game so far.

Footnote - Brees has 0 INT's thus far.

Zilch.

Yup. Brees is the only starting QB in the NFL without an interception.

Meredith fumbled but it looked like he never had full control of the catch. I don’t think they even bothered to review it.

This reminds me of last year...when the light finally came on for the defense. I don’t know if communication is better or if DA simplified things but last night was awesome. Especially considering we lost Lattimore early.

Oh year Alex A and Kurt C still suck though...

Yep. Sean won't tolerate fumbling but Meredith has to secure the rock. Dude was making plays and getting open.

I'm with you on both. Anzalone (he got tossed by Adrian) & Kurt is still taking bad angles. Overall both have played poorly. We must have better production from these two players going forwad. We'll need their best effort against the stronger teams (Rams & Vikes).

It looks like he was still trying to pull it in when Moreau got his hand in there to pull Meredith's arm away. Good timing by Moreau. It probably could have been called an incomplete pass just as easily.

This is one that even with my Saints glasses on I did not have a problem with them calling it a fumble. If the score was a little closer though I would've been cussing at the T.V and calling the refs cheaters.

Pretty much the same for me.

Or maybe Merideth just isn’t all that good.

I thought Coleman was supposed to be an upgrade over Vaccaro. How has he been this year? I still have hopes for him. Williams isn’t exactly lighting it up this year either.

I thought he would be but so far he's been below average. Bad angles, missed tackles (on crucial 3rd downs). Hadn't looked at his PFF grades as of late but I'm sure they aren't good. On the flip side, Vonn Bell has been playing a lot better. How much can we attribute this to Kurt & his "veteran presence "?

Hindsight is 20/20 however it's starting to look like the Saints may have over paid for Kurt. Long season ahead but I think at some point he'll help us win more defensive battles.

Marcus Williams' PFF is at 60.2 which is "above average" according to their scale.

Coleman is at 54.7 - "average"

Vonn Bell is at 79.8 - "good"

I love your optimism. God bless you...

Yes, A complete game.

Hell... Two good games in a row. Yay!

I need to see a looooot more from the D to have any true optimism. :bng:

For the compensation given this off season to Coleman in Free Agency, "average" (C) isn't good enough. He must play better at the position.

Hope we’re not getting too fat and happy during our bye week because we could very possibly go 0-3 over these next couple of games (@Ravens, @Vikings, Rams). Brutal stretch.

11 sacks today however Marriota and that offense isn't very creative or dynamic. Ravens will be tested big time with Brees and company.

How can he spill something he couldn't even execute?

Re: 18-1 Baby! One Step Closer!

I'm less concerned with the Raven's D than the Saints D. Yes, Baltimore has the #1 ranked D, but a couple of teams they've beat have offenses that would find it difficult to score on The Little Sisters of the Poor. Remember, Washington had a top rated D ..... until last Monday.

Flacco, on the other hand, is putting up good numbers, but he has been sacked 11 times. We broke the Alex Smith jinx last week. Let's drive a stake into the heart of the Raven's this week.
