Better than '09?
This could be the very best crop of receivers that Brees has ever had to work with. In 2009 he had Colston, Moore, Meachem and Henderson of which only Colston and Moore were consistently reliable.
in '09 the Saints averaged just under 32 points a game. In the first 13 games they were averaging almost 36 points a game before clinching home field and taking their foot off the peddle. Thomas' has become a dominating receiver. @cantguardmike seems to fit and this is forcing opposing D's to game-plan him, opening up the field for other receivers. In steps Smith, Meredith and Carr (notice I didn't mention Ginn). As these guys have become more adept with the offense, games like Monday night just might become the norm. The doesn't even include the two headed monster of Ingram and Kamara. Add in a D that consistently hands the ball back to the offense. Better than '09? 40+ points a game as a norm? Scary stuff.... |
