Saints bringing back offensive lineman Michael Ola

I wonder who we released to make room for him?

Via Josh Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Saints are re-signing veteran offensive lineman Michael Ola.

They listed left tackle Terron Armstead (knee) and left guard Andrus Peat (head) as limited in practice yesterday, but they haven’t missed any game time lately.

Stallworth may be headed to IR is what I'm thinking...

Stallworth (UDFA) has been a very unexpected surprise. Initially the injury appeared worse than it was. If he needs another week or two of rest due to a ankle sprain (hopefully it isn't "high sprain", so be it. Bromley isn't a bad "fill in" either.

Let's get after Flucco on Sunday :bng:.

Just filling Ginn's roster spot. Why not bring in a lineman that already knows the system for insurance.

Speaking of guys who "know the system" ...

Any chance SP dials up Brandon Coleman (assuming he is healthy) at some point this season ? I think we are very talented @ WR however not a lot experience.

Thoughts?

He was the odd man out at cut time. It could happen.

Wide receiver Brandon Coleman was released by the Saints on Sunday prior to last night’s practice at Tulane. Sean Payton shed some light on the move.

Prior to last night’s Saints training camp practice at Tulane University, the team released both wide receiver Brandon Coleman and guard John Fullingham. Both players had injury designations and both are eligible to rejoin the team at some point. Sean Payton spoke about Brandon Coleman in a media availability last night after practice concluded.

Coleman has been with the Saints since signing as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Rutgers in 2014. He had been let go during this most recent offseason to explore free agency but the Saints brought him back on a one-year deal when no other teams were biting.

I really wonder just how bad his injury is? He has been inconsistent and the young guns are beginning to make contributions enough to earn more snaps and get the chemistry flowing with Drew Brees. Sean Payton will put someone on IR with a hang nail, but that is usually to red shirt them, so I don't know what this means about his future here.
