Marcus Davenport impact

4 sacks through 7 games.

Looks like he was worth the 8 first rounders! /sarcasm

He needs to be! We won't be drafting anyone until 2025. Lol.

He's a very good, young rookie. 4 sacks already.

I like the fact that Okafor is playing good ball too, both stay fresh, then Davenport comes in energized, hungry and taking away souls.

How about that sack/strip (knee was down unfortunately) on Cousins? That was a grown man move.

Eggspurts get ready reality is here. I went on the “Live” board last night it was so negative I thought I was on the wrong teams board. Positivity wins out in real life.

That's why I stopped visiting the live game chat a couple of years ago. A few people that get on there are ALWAYS looking for anything they can find negative to moan and cry about. It's like death and taxes. I'm sure we could list who it was without ever logging in, WW_Who_Dat.

Sometimes FACTS can be misinterpreted as being NEGATIVE.

Life is filled with facts that can be viewed as negative. If there is NOTHING that I can do personally to change those facts I choose to ignore them and look for the positives. It makes for a much happier enjoyment of life. The same can be said for watching a sporting event which is supposed to be entertainment and enjoyable.

What will open up the pass defense is the fact that you cannot double block Marcus Davenport, Cameron Jordan and Sheldon Rankins who had 2 sacks tonight.

Remember this... if nothing changes... nothing changes.

Re: Marcus Davenport impact

Why do they keep saying he cost 2 first round picks?
We swapped 27th for 14th in 2018 with a 5th round in 2018 and 1st in 2019. He cost us 1 first round pick and a 5th round pick. Where does 2 come from?

He's gonna be one heck of a edge rusher. What a violent football player. I think I've found my guy who arrives quickly with bad intentions.

No kidding. He has moves now that he supposedly didn't have when the season began. Either the scouting was bad or he is one of the fastest learners in NFL history. I think it is most likely a combination of the two.

He is going to be a beast for a long time!

One thing I like to see;

When Davenport makes a play, the entire D surround him to congratulate. They all like this guy.

Early on he looked a little slow off the ball but his first step has sped up and he is literally in the backfield all the time.

If PJ held up for longer than a second, I saw Davenport having 2 more sacks last night.

I think the moment he started getting more reps, the game shifted. He should be starting. We went from having a hard time getting pressure to getting pressure every down. Davenport looks like the type of disruptive player that will end up being worth more than what we gave up for him.

Yes. He could easily turn out to be a generational player (ie. a player that you can get with a first rounder only once every ten to fifteen years).

And give Eli Apple another week in the secondary I know we'll take out the Lambs in the Dome next week.

PRob would have helped us so much last night. Luckily most teams don't have receivers like the Vikings do.

I remember watching the play live and seeing him fall down I was thinking damn he almost got him, then a split second later BOOM. Those are the kinds of plays that separate great players from elite players. Take Cam Jordan for example. He's a great player and I love the guy, but I don't think he would've made that play. I don't mean that as a slight against Cam, it wasn't an easy play to make. Just goes to show how much potential this young man really has. I bet he's got another big play or 2 coming for us against the rams. Really looking forward to this game.
