USA Today/Saints Wire: Trade deadline 2018: 4 Saints who could be on the move

Re: USA Today/Saints Wire: Trade deadline 2018: 4 Saints who could be on the move

Sigler suggests Meredith, Crawley, Okafor, & Peat - Okay, I could see the first two...

Carr needs more reps to get comfortable and could easily be as productive as Meredith, and then there's Arnold. Keith Kirkwood might be ready for the 53-man roster and has amazing hands...

I'd really hate to lose the depth of Crawley, but his confidence is likely shot after the demotion and a change of scenery might be best for him and team...

We lost Okafor last season and that was exposed in the playoffs - no way do I go into the playoffs with less than three. Besides, I like our "Nascar", 3rd Down Front of Davenport-Onyemata-Jordan-Okafor...

And I don't care who's input PFF is using, Peat's grade doesn't reflect the beasts he takes on each week and wins more than any other LG in the league. And as the writer said, he can kick out to LT without a hitch...

Two, three guys I could see moving is Bridgewater, Hendrickson, and Loewen; don't hate any of them, but it's depth that we could afford to move for other depth, upgrade needs like CB, S, OL...

Saints won't make any trades. Drew won't let them. We need all hands on deck for a Superbowl run.

There are a handful of solid TE's (Olsen, Zach Ertz) left on the schedule.

I could see the Saints kicking the tires on possibly a safety than can "man up".

That might be why we’re having S/CB Obi Melifonwu in for a visit today.

Elite athlete but never really put it al together in Oakland.

Elite speed for his size; can’t comment on his coverage ability but decent tackler and hits pretty hard; at 6’4” 220+ and ran a 4.4 forty you can see why

Nice intangibles! Wonder why he's on the street.

I don’t like the fact that he is injured either.

Take it for what it's worth but before Obi was waived, Jon Gruden had been quoted as saying that he wants players that love football.

Not sure if he lost focus in film study/practice or if Gruden had enough with all of the injuries.

The fact is he isn't injured. He was placed on IR prior to the beginning of the season. A player cannot be released while on IR unless he passes a physical showing he is fully recovered from the injury. Some teams do this as a cap relief move while others do it to give the player the ability to play again immediately. He has the option of re-signing with the Raiders if he so chooses.

I don’t like the idea of giving up Okafor. The only reason our defense doesn’t completely blow is because of our stout run defense. If we start having problems stopping the run we are totally screwed.

I’d trade Peat for Harris Jr in a second.

Golden Tate to the Eagles.

We'll face him on 11/18.

Leave the chemistry of the O Line alone....that is the strength of our offense.

I would definitely kick the tires on Obi...nothing to lose...and we have questionable depth there...I don’t have much faith in Coleman at all...

Yea and for once we have a lot of continuity there.

Keeping Peat is more important than Bridgewater imo.

Wow. I got him and it looks like good news for me. He was already doing well in Detroit. He should get more work in Philly with their weak run game for short passes and end arounds.

I have him too and I see it the opposite way. He's gonna need weeks to get up to speed with their playbook. I desperately wanted to get rid of him, now I'm stuck with him. Not happy about it.

He’s only in his 2nd year, so I’m comfortable with signing him.

I think he will be fine. He's a pro and they don't have a run game. Could find lots of garbage time and Wentz running around until he is open.

WoW! was I wrong, I was heated that the saints passed on him for Williams in 2017 draft. with that being said he might be a great pick up

I agree trading Peat would be a mistake but losing Bridgewater for anything less than a 1st rd pick will be a even bigger mistake

If we would have got a 1st for Bridgewater. Flipping an unused player from a 3 to a 1. Drop the mike. We win the trade deadline.
