The Rams and Home Field throughout

The Rams have a half game lead over the Saints, but the Saints hold the tie-breaker, head-to-head.

The Rams face a tough test Monday night at home in what will be the Saints best chance to separate a little further. The Rams also have to go into Chicago and play home to Philly, but the other three games should be cakewalk: SF, Ariz, and Det.

Expecting the Saints to win out is a bit optimistic: Eagles, Falcons, Steelers, and Panthers 2X, and in Dallas.

Go Chiefs!
Win it for Hank

That's the consensus amongst the fake news media. However, this team has continued to improve, so much so that our schedule appears less daunting now than at season's beginning. Now teams absolutely do not want to play us. Combine that with the Panties still trying to catch up to us, this will probably put us over the top in terms of keeping us motivated to keep pressing. The Lambs defense, while littered with presumably dream-teamers, has more serious holes than ours at this point.

Re: The Rams and Home Field throughout

I think the Rams lose on Monday night in a ridiculous shoot out 45 - 42. After that the only game I think they might lose is at Chicago. They're going to have a 14-2 or 13-3 record to end the season.

I feel the Saints biggest concerns are the Falcons (my trap game of the remaining schedule) and Carolina. Carolina will be fighting for their playoff lives and will bring it. The Eagles and Cowboys don't have the offenses to keep up, and look what the Chiefs did to the Steelers I'm not as worried since it's at home.

I would reeeeeaally like to not talk about home field advantage just yet.

I heard this morning where if the Rams win Monday, they clinch their division. That's pretty nuts.

Arizona, San Francisco, and Seattle. That division sucks. If it were competitive at all we'd have a 2 game lead on them for home field. And their schedule is cake compared to ours the rest of the way. We just have to control what we can control, one week at a time. LA is ripe to be beaten - I just don't think they're as good as their buildup, but until they lose again I'm wrong.

18-1?

Well this will be the Falcons Superbowl. We win by 13.

The Eagles at home... Win by 18.
Dallas on Prime Time... Win by 20.
Steelers in the Dome... Hardest game... Win by 6.

Panthers fill out the season and may be the reason we go 15-1 we could have to beat them twice to win the division or win home field advantage.

Most of the Drew/Sean era it was a given that we needed homefield through out to get a SB. A lot of people felt this way, I know I did. I don't think that applies to this team, this season. This team travels well.

I've been hearing for the last few weeks how if the Saints Rams game was played in LA we'd lose. I'm not entirely sold on that, and I actually think we are just as good on the road as we are at home. This team is built to go into other teams stadiums and pick them apart.

Agree 125%. Still got reeeeeeally tough games against teams playing for their playoff lives.

We're good, but it doesn't take long to get humbled in this league. Titans vs Pats comes to mind.

1 atta time.

Sentiments like this always make me chuckle. There's no amount of speculation, prediction, or pontificating that we can do on this forum that will affect the outcome of anything the Saints do on the field. My brother was saying the exact same thing above today when I spoke to him. The Saints need to have a one game at a time focus. We don't.

So let's get to it. The Saints are coming out of the back breaking part of their schedule. Philly has been derailed by injuries. The Saints defense should be able to slow down the Falcons enough to come through on Thanksgiving. The O-Line will stonewall the Dallas front seven, and neither their backend nor their offense will be able to keep up. Then finally after a 10 day mini bye, the opportunity to shut down the Bucs should be sufficient motivation to come through in Tampa.

The Rams have two tough games with KC coming into LA Monday and the Rams having to go to Chicago in December. If KC and the Bears come through then we roll into week 15 at 12-1 vs the Rams likely 10-3. This is a great setup for the Saints with a final leg of two games with the Kitties and Pittsburgh at home.

What I see as really interesting is that the Saints will get two games in (FailClowns, CowGirls) while the Rams sit on their bye. The Saints can pick up a game and a half on them presuming they lose to KC Monday.

So it's likely the first to 13 games in the NFC will be in excellent position. And with the Saints up a 1/2 game on everyone except the Bears, the Saints are in the best position to secure home field at the 13 win level.

Please feel free to get back to your regularly schedule roasting of the Eagles.

Let's just try and stay out of Chicago and the other frozen tundra cities and we'll be okay.

Amen to this. I attended the 2006 NFC Championship game in Chicago. It was brutal.

Hot take ...

The Lambs will stumble and lose to the Chiefs and Bears. That run D is still bad. You aren't beating anyone in the playoffs if you can't stop a run game.

I'm not sold on the Bears beating them, but I concede they may. I do think KC is about to hang a 40 burger on 'em Monday night.

My reasoning on the Bears in this one ... 12/9 is the date. I've been to a game at Soldier field in December many moons ago. Brutal conditions, I mean the weather is so unkind there. Teams will be limited on throwing anything with the wind. Chicago is very stout (#3 run, #1 in takeaways) on the defensive front. I'll take a good defense over a good offense in those type of conditions.

And yes, I do agree with you on KC.
