Alvin Kamara is convinced the Saints would have beat the Eagles in the playoffs last season.

The Saints running back didn’t mean any disrespect. He just simply believes in the talent of his team, and he thinks New Orleans would have continued its run if it had gotten by the Vikings last season.

So, during an interview with Bleacher Report, Kamara said that the Saints would have “beat the (expletive)” out of the Eagles if they had played in the NFC title game.

“Yeah, that’s what I said,” Kamara said. “I don’t care if we’re playing against the Monstars, my team, whatever team I’m on, I’m going to say we’re going to win. Period

“I guarantee with any other guy in this league that feels strongly that they’re on. It’s no disrespect, direct disrespect. I didn’t call direct names. It’s just my team against your team. That’s all I’m going to say about that.”

The Saints play the Eagles this weekend at the Superdome. They are currently 4-5 and fighting to keep their season alive.

Former Saints safety Malcolm Jenkins, who now plays for Eagles, is aware of Kamara’s comments but said they provide no additional motivation.

“We won the Super Bowl,” Jenkins said. “You know, the bulletin-board material is really more for you guys than for us. There’s no more incentive needed than I already have.

“I’ve got a laundry list of reasons why I want to be excited for this game. One, because it’s our next game. Two, our season is kind of in the balance and we need it. I don’t need any more motivation.”

Ruh roh. I hope Kamara didn’t just jinx us.

Wish Jenkins would have worked out here. Seems to be a focused individual.

It's been quoted quite a few times but to Jenkins own admission, us not resigning him is what inspired him to get his game back on track.

He got lazy and complacent in NO, and he most probably doesn't live up to his contract & fades away had we resigned him.

Listen to Alvin I think he is right on that.

They couldn't have played anywhere near as badly as the 10 second high Vikings did stinking up the NFC Championship

Getting to the SuperBowl among 31 other teams involves a lot of factors, one of them is Luck and on that fateful day the Vikes had Dumb Luck.

This game is going to be difficult. Armistead being out doesn't help. The real issue isn't that we are not better than Philly, we are. The problem is when you get handed teams. We are getting handed Philly coming off a loss to Dallas where they are, for all intents and purposes, playing for their season. Getting ahead early would be a huge help. This could be our most difficult game to date.

and he's right. We would've won the Superbowl too!

I don't think Kamara meant any disrespect by his comment. It's more of a mindset that he has, which is what the team needs to win a SB. And Jenkins's comment was nothing but class and work-like.

I am not saying its gonna be a cake walk but we are averaging the most points per game now. Philly is banged up a lot in the secondary. Also, Dallas just ran all over them in there last game. So should they choose to take away the run (or try at least lol), Drew will do what Drew does and he is on absolute fire this season. I am not worried in the least.

This could certainly be the result, no doubt. We are certianly a much better team right now, especially with their banged up secondary. But for all of us (you as well) we have seen these types of games before. A team is battling to get to 500 and haven't been playing their best, come in banged up, should be a walk away win and they play lights out...off pure emotion. We are definitely the much better team, I am just not thrilled with when we are getting them. I am glad we are at home this week.

Week to week in this league is week to week. In the past we have lost to the Browns and Rams when they weren't very good. We played a team that won 7 games in the regular season who came out and beat us in first round of the playoffs. You just can never tell when a team feels like they have something to prove and they can muster that emotion for one week.

If we come out with a lot of emotion we will win this going away...but if we come out a little sluggish and let them hang around you just never know.

Glad you're not worried, I am worried based simply on the timing.

(1) Thats part of why I am not worrying, we are at home. Now if we had to go there, then I would worry a bit. But the dome is gonna be rocking and its hard for any visiting team to play in the dome.

(2) LOL.I know we can never let go of the past. The nightmares of the Rams and Browns will last forever. But I truly feel this is a different team. Also, we lost that game to Seattle at there house, that made a difference.

(3) I agree crazy stuff can happen (Minnesota miracle, but this team is playing so good right now). There are so many unprecedented things we are doing (Brees completion %, 1 INT, MT catching 90% of passes thrown to him, the list goes on.) We are playing better than the 2009 team, multiple talking heads say we are the best team in the NFL atm.

So I can understand the worry, some things are hard to forget, but today in the dome, with the injuries Philly has and how well we are playing, we got this.

This game and next is not known as the Dome, it is gonna be known as the place where birds come to DIE!! Whodat!!! :bng:

it's not just the past, look at game 1 this year. That team has won 2 games since. It is the NFL. That is just how things roll sometimes. Not always does the better team win during the regular season. We are a much better team than the Eagles and we are certainly in our best opportunity for a SB run since '11. This is a really good team, but the Eagles are coming with everything they have. I am not sure we are in that level of desperation this week. Getting up early, however, would be huge. I'm not saying we are going to lose, we are really good, but I am saying we need to come out hungry. If we come out hungry it wouldn't surprise me for us to win by 3 td's. But looking at a stat about the Eagles since DP took over their worst loss has been by 18 I read and nearly all of their games come within one score.

Clearly turnovers and penalties must always be avoided in order to win, but
Two points in this game IMHO:
1. We have to protect Drew. Like you said they are banged up. The only way we can take advantage is protecting him. Drew is absolutely on fire this year. It is sick.
2. Get after CW. They have let up like 28 sacks or something this season. They do have weapons in the pass game. Getting pressure on Wentz will help our secondary.

That's my keys to the game, which are probably worthless

that's my hope brother. Hope it is like many Saints big wins where you kind of are close and then the Saints are up by 3 td's and you're not really sure that happened so quick. It is like a beating through attrition.

My only comment on the first game, NOBODY saw that coming! If someone said Fitz is gonna throw for 400 yrds 3 or 4 tds in those games the first 2 (or 3, can't remember) you would have been institutionalized. Like you said, it was a rouge, cause they suck.
