Tre’Quan Smith “so happy” he’s earned Drew Brees’ trust

Smith improvised on the scoring play and said he was “so happy” that Brees told him “I trust you” after that play. The team might not have sent the same message with their recent signings, but Smith said he’s taking motivation from those moves as well.

In the fourth quarter he caught one way downfield and the defender was ahead of him and told him to just go out of bounds. For a second I thought he was going to act like he was going out of bounds and take off toward the endzone at last minute. That would have been hilarious.
I would have been pissed if that was our guy. Could have been Jenkins.

He’s about to explode, because now Brees is going to throw him the ball even when he’s covered like Jenkins. Brees has to make sure it’s safe to do that. He’s so precautious and cerebral.

Trequan is real. But so is Kirkwood. I say Kirkwood has the best hands on the team. I know thats sayin a lot. He reminds me of Eric Martin catchin the ball.

I like how Smith does not get too high or too low. Even headed & smart dude. I think his smarts are the best part of his game. He has grasped the playbook and taking off.

He & Drew will be getting on fine.

Uh, I like both these young guys, Kirkwood even more than Tre'Quan but better hands than Can'tGuardMike? Don't know about that.
