Drew Brees will win the MVP as long as we keep a better record than the Chiefs. They won’t give it to anybody on the Rams because we beat the Rams. They won’t give it to Mahomes as long as our record is better. The perfect story is for Brees to finally get a MVP and go on to win his second Super Bowl so it can guarantee his spot as a top 5 QB of all time. The NFL is WWE sometimes.

KC gives the ball up 5 times and still scores 50+? And only loses by 3? That doesn't say much for Rams.

Or the KC defense.

Looked like 7 on 7 football. No defense on either side. Not much strategy either. Just run wide and sling it. I guess .

The Rams exposed Mahomes. Looks like a lot of young guns, only with a better arm. Crash the pocket and keep him from scrambling and his numbers become average or worse.

With our ball control offense and D-line....

I think the MVP talk with Pat will slowly die. He choked in the worst times of the game. 2 difficult opponents, 2 L's. 21 points off turnovers was on his watch.

We saw where youth and inexperience will get you beat at this level. He's a very promising player, however not quite ready for big time, prime time.

Good pro but MVP? ... no sir.

Is this a new record, 8 TDs in one game? Six for the Chiefs and two for the Rams.

It appears that Mahomes may not the "second coming" of the QB god after. Considering that Brees owns or will soon own essentially every QB record in the book, that would appear to make him the "first coming". Yet, many talking heads somehow think that he is still not MVP worthy.

New record for what? Combined TD passes in a game? Absolutely not. Brees and Eli Manning threw collectively 13 TD in that 52-49 track meet three years ago.

I think he is referring to the fact that Mahomes threw for 6 TDs for the Chiefs, and had two turnovers that were returned for TDs by the Rams. So, in a way, he was responsible for 8 TDs.

The Eagles Saints game was barely 24 hours old and literally "yesterdays news" All they could do was tell us how great the Rams offense and Defense was. Uh huh!

K Major 11-20-2018 04:02 PM

Re: MNF crew really pushing for Mahomes as MVP

I'll say this ... offense always draws an audience/tickets but defense almost always wins Lombardi's. At some point, the Rams will have to defend & make a stop. If you can't do that, you are going home.

It makes me laugh ever time (even after we defeated the Lambs) I read an article that says ... "when the playoffs go through LA".

As the latest power rankings basically stated, neither team can really be defined as a Super Bowl contender when your defense gets ripped for 50+ points by a decent offense.

Each team has a couple of stand out great defenders but as a unit and after their great players the rest is just garbage that will get picked apart by good offenses with ease.

Even with the cake walk schedules these two teams have remaining they will each lose another game for sure. But with defenses like they have I don't see either team going to championship games when defense starts to really matter. Neither have it and it's going to cost them.

From Yahoo Sports...

"1. New Orleans Saints (9-1, LW: 2)

Here was the offensive yardage from each of the Eagles’ drives on Sunday, and remember this is still a Philadelphia offense with a lot of talent: 9, 6, 0, 75, 19, 0, 16, 17, 9, 14, 31. And that last drive was meaningless (it was insane that Doug Pederson still had Carson Wentz dropping back to pass). So over the Eagles’ first 10 possessions, they had one drive with more than 19 offensive yards. If the Saints defense is going to play like that the rest of the season? Game over."

Pat Summerall/John Madden - all others, Kneel Before Zod!

Like former WWL-4 Chris Myers to take over SNF and/or MNF; kick Witten to the sideline, ship Booger & the Booger-Kart back to Winnfield...

Say what you want, but Tony Romo is probably the best color commentator right now for NFL games and paired with Jim Nantz is about as good as it gets right now...

Only team that still scares me most is the Patriots. Brady is Brees' lone peer intellectually and as a team leader. All other QB's in the NFL are on a tier way below (including the overrated Rodgers). Their defense can come up big at key times. Hoody coaches 'em up. They are often greater than the sum of their parts.

So glad we didn't keep Akiem Hicks...

I'd rather have the Chiefs to beat just to shut up the simple-minded folk, but I'd bet a big batch of good gumbo (mine own), that Payton would love to win the Lombardi against Belichick and his dynasty...

That would p*ss me off and this is why - an MVP wouldn't have allowed his unit to get dragged up and down the field like a b*tch like they were...

Rams DST scores were impressive, but it wasn't Donald and they didn't shut the Chiefs down like Chi-town took down the Vikings...

Yeah, the MNF team is just awful.

That Booker dude last night about the Rams' defense: "no other team around the league has 3 1st rounders in their defensive front."

Oh, really?!

Just from the top of my head: Jordan, Rankins and Davenport.

I bet there are also other teams...

TheOak 11-21-2018 03:09 PM

Re: MNF crew really pushing for Mahomes as MVP

Tuesday morning, NFLSirius had Gary Myers on talking about the MFP this season and Gary stressed repeatedly that there is still A LOT of football to play.

When pressed really hard he said that Mahomes performance against the Rams pretty much put MPV in Drew's hands to lose. On the interceptions at the end, himself and a couple of other people on said the same thing... You dont throw a desperation pass with 40s on the clock, with 40s on the clock you can get off almost 3 plays in. He panicked.
