Malcolm Jenkins fined for flipping the bird

Saints coach Sean Payton didn’t have a problem with Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins flipping him the bird after Jenkins got beaten for a touchdown in last Sunday’s game, but the NFL did have an issue with it.

According to multiple reports, the NFL has fined Jenkins $13,369 for his gesture toward Payton in the fourth quarter of the Saints’ 48-7 win. Jenkins said after the game that he spoke to Payton, who used to coach him with the Saints and called letting Jenkins leave “as big a mistake” as the team has made since the coach came to New Orleans.

Jenkins gave the finger after a long touchdown pass to running back Alvin Kamara and Kamara also hear from the league this week.

Yeah Malcolm was a little unsportsmanlike there towards Sean, LOL. He let it get the better of him, but he knew he'd been beaten!

4th and 7, late in the game, oh, hey, let's go straight at Malcolm Jenkins. Because game recognizes game, this is how Sean Payton shows respect. By coming right AT you! The master once again tests the student, and finds him wanting. It was all in fun, I think it was really Payton's idea of an inside joke, let's go after Malcolm for a lark, that just happened to connect for an easy walk-in touchdown.

I think that play was also meant intentionally as a message to the Falcons, letting them know that we would be coming after their strong safety a few days later. It probably kept the Falcons coaches awake at night just watching that one play on a loop. If the 2018 Saints can beat Malcolm Jenkins, with his two Super Bowl rings, going right at him on 4th down, then you can sure as heck know the Saints can beat whoever the Falcons put back there, at strong safety. And they wound up picking on that guy, the next week, too.
