The far too early 2019 FA/Draft Wish list
Yes its too early but what is your wish list for FA/Draft this coming offseason
Drew just seems to be better and better, do you sign up Bridgewater if you can long term and use cap space needed elsewhere,do you let him walk and hope for the 3rd round Comp pick in 2020. What area's need strengthening Who's the bargain FA worth a look and who are the few draft picks worth actually looking at with the few picks we have Personally for me i would be looking at a slot corner and pass catching TE Luckily a slot corner is more likely to drop into the second round Not sure if ill bother watching the draft next year, 3 days off sitting around with only a 2/5/6/6/7/7 is really worth taking the time off work |
Re: The far too early 2019 FA/Draft Wish list
we don't even have a pick until the 3rd.

I'll put a positive "spin" on our 2019 draft starting in round 2.
Here are the last two draft selections for us in the 2nd round ... 2017 - Marcus Williams 2016 - Michael Thomas 2019 draft player "X" & soon to be stud :p. |

Re: The far too early 2019 FA/Draft Wish list
What does this team need? A Strong Safety? That's It.
I'd let Bridewater geaux and get a third round pick back... I'd move Armstead and his 8 GP/Season and sign a RT or LG and let Ramczyk or Peat move to LT... I'd sign a few reserves, maybe maintain a quality reserve quarterback... I might get out in front of some of these looming big contracts and get some team-friendly numbers in those contract for upgrading them sooner - at least the offensive skill positions and cornerbacks... |

We’re not going to get a compensatory pick for Teddy Bridgewater. Loomis himself has said they value being aggressive in free agency more than sitting back collecting comp picks.

Couldn't hurt to try to upgrade the slot corner position. P Rob is getting older and PJ is no lock to return. Plus he still makes me nervous.

You never know what high-priced FA’s Payton and Loomis will chase a la Ndamukong Suh. They like making the splashy signings. All of our TE’s other than Dan Arnold are FA’s after this season... But hopefully Coby Fleener put them off spending big on those. |
Re: The far too early 2019 FA/Draft Wish list
I don't see them going after any high priced FA's.
We are doing so well in the draft... I look to see them move someone and get another pick. Hell we are liable to get 4 undrafted guys and who no one has heard off, oh wait that is this year. |

I’m betting their counting on getting a 2 for bridgewater look what’s happening now bortles is done. Could they be eyeing bridge??San Fran ? Miami we have bargaining power and if it’s not the case we’ll we have an accurate a passer in the bull pen Hill will be Hill for another 3 years at least . |

I see your logic why but what happened to the 9ers after gropulo injury look at the back ups. Turruble how bout trading for possibly the most accurate back up in the nfl. Not counting think about wentz after his return hum not to up to par yet so why not pick up bridgewater. For some ins. Just saying |
Re: The far too early 2019 FA/Draft Wish list
We will trade up to get the best TE in the draft. I would think another DE or DT or combo and Safety. We can sign some proven talent for the OL.

Matt Miller's Scouting Notebook: Are TEs Better Than WRs in 2019 Draft?
https://syndication.bleacherreport.c...mpression=true "When it's all said and done, in the next four years, I'll bet you this tight end class is better than the receivers," said one area scout. I'd follow that bet. Great draft to need TE help. Not picking until the end of the 2nd round should put us right in the sweet spot to for the positional value. I really like what I’ve seen of Iowa’s TJ Hockenson. |
Re: The far too early 2019 FA/Draft Wish list
If it's not a cornerback, someone should set the office on fire.

Re: The far too early 2019 FA/Draft Wish list
i'd like to see o-line depth and a traditional TE added to the roster. dunno if we can get those in free agency unless we take a chance on a player willing to take a prove it deal. there are some big contracts on the horizon.
someone mentioned moving armstead. as much as i love him when he's healthy, if the offer was good i'd probably consider it. when he's out and we're playing stout defenses, it just gets too dicey. i'd like to be more optimistic but this offseason he was very open about how this is the year he finally feels healthy and is managing his injuries yet we're back to square one again. i feel crazy saying this about a guy so dominant at his position. |
