Saints owner Gayle Benson quietly pays off hundreds of Walmart layaway orders
1 Attachment(s)
Gayle Benson, owner of the New Orleans Saints, has reportedly paid off thousands of dollars worth of orders that were on layaway at a Louisiana Walmart.
The New Orleans Advocate reports that 408 orders were paid off at the Walmart on Tchoupitoulas Street, much to the surprise of the customers who placed them. The store said the orders totaled more than $100,000. Store management said only a few people had come into the store as of Tuesday evening to realize that their holiday purchases had been paid off. "They're coming in, and they're calling their friends and family," Williams told the Advocate. "They're very excited. It's a good thing. It's a good thing for the community." https://image.nola.com/home/nola-med...1da2eba986.jpg Gayle Benson took over the Saints franchise after her husband, and the team's previous owner, Tom Benson passed away earlier this year. The team is currently 10-2 and all but a lock for a playoff spot heading into the final four weeks of the regular season. Link Back |

Just my luck.. My wife never puts anything on layaway at Walmart.
In any case... Sounds like Mrs Benson just had a Merry Christmas by making some else's Christmas Merry. God Bless you Mrs Benson. https://media.tenor.com/images/55623...2226/tenor.gif |

Re: Saints owner Gayle Benson quietly pays off hundreds of Walmart layaway orders
When Gayle Benson married Tom, she changed him from a petty car dealership owner into the highest example of class and civic responsibility.
They donated loads to charities. They donated loads to Tulane to build their stadium "Tom Benson Stadium" They donated loads to the NFL hall of fame where Canton is now called "Tom Benson Field" If you drive around the City of New Orleans and look at school yards, some say "Tom Benson Playground" or "Benson Court" (basketball court). None of those were just to honor Tom Benson, it's because he was wealthy and Gayle showed him that he could never take that wealth with him. Gayle and Tom became the example of class in ownership for NFL owners. They raised the bar, and some owners resented that. Tom grew into a person with the highest ideals of American capitalism and sportsmanship. Now Gayle Benson continues that legacy. This woman has class. She's modest, smart, and the ultimate ambassador for New Orleans and the U.S. GOD BLESS HER!! |

That she did Halo, cause for the longest time Mr. Benson god rest his soul was a stingy bastard and rubbed a few fans the wrong way but she changed him thats for sure. What i like about what she did the most is that it immediately impacts people its not like donating money to a charity and you got no clue if the people that needs it get it. |

Hopefully those folks will use this opportunity to get caught up on their other debt and bills, possibly save a few hundred and not blow it out the arse for the Holidays...
