Saints linebacker Demario Davis fined nearly $27k for helmet-to-helmet hit vs. Buccaneers
 

The NFL fined New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis $26,739 for unnecessary roughness in last Sunday’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In the second quarter, Davis received a penalty for lowering his head to initiate contact when he tackled Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber after a 2-yard gain.

Tampa Bay center Ryan Jensen was not fined for his unnecessary roughness penalty in the game in which he had an extracurricular hit on Saints linebacker Alex Anzalone.

B.S.!!! Where were the refs on two calls the week before? The NFL officiating makes me sick...…..

There has to be jobs on the line with these missed targeting calls they have to change the rules u can’t tell me more than 1 refs is not looking at every tackle it’s so damned bios it has to be relooked like ncaa but if they don’t throw a flag it’s worthless

Officiating has gotten horrible. Especially when it comes to this call. Our guys get nailed in the head every week and nothing.

Don't like it. But, I understand it. It should be based on offenses though. First offense x amount. Second offense xx amount. $27K is ridiculous.

Especially when criticizing an official gets you a $12k fine. Who comes up with these numbers? Don King??

It is based upon number of offenses.

No. They were agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

It's a one-way street with Goody and the NFL. I really wish bad things on Goodell.
