Film Room: Saints Offense

The recent woes of Jared Goff have gotten lots of attention, but the Los Angeles Rams' offense is not alone in its fall from grace. Across the country, another offensive juggernaut in the New Orleans Saints is struggling as the regular season comes to an end. A three-game road trip has seemingly sucked the life out of Sean Payton's offense, deflating quarterback Drew Brees' MVP hopes and forcing the defense to step up, which they fortunately have. Still, the Saints' offense clunking into the playoffs with tires falling off and the check-engine light flashing is not the condition they hoped for.

I love having the best record. We only have to worry about winning instead of the Falcons and Carolina both losing the final 2 games and us winning both games.

The clue was in the article: "a three-game road trip". Dallas' D is pretty legit along with the Panties...in both their houses, none the less. Plus we lost Unger the entire 2nd half in Carolina. TB generally gives us fits but we hung +20 in the 2nd half.

Thats why SP isn't too worried bout the offense. Our offense isn't designed for Jerryworld, Panty Raid Princess Castle, or whatever the crap name the Yuks play. Its designed for Dome Sweet Dome.

Oh, and our Defense is one bad mother...

If our D has been shutting offenses out on the road, imagine what they'll do when they've got the dome crowd behind them.

Offense will get it sorted!

Yeah, our offense has looked different the last 3 games. I’m willing to give them a pass on all but 1. Last 2 games were against div opponents in their house. Played in a monsoon down in TB. Players even commented on how surprisingly cold it was in Carolina. 2 conditions where Brees without a doubt has never had really good success.
The Dallas game I can’t excuse. We’ve played some tough defenses, and some on the road(Baltimore), and didn’t look any where near as bad as we looked against Dallas. In a dome I may add.
But they did have the roof open. Not enough of an excuse to look that bad though.

Re: Film Room: Saints Offense

The offense started to sputter against Atlanta before the 3 game road trip. Not much of a surprise. Hard to be solid and putting up 30+ points for 16 games. We really have two weaknesses, tight end and a viable number 2. I expect that if Ginn comes back and can contribute that will go a long way toward helping our O. Plus, our oline has got a little beat up recently. Barring something dramatic the oline should get some rest before playoff game one...our oline when fully healthy is the best in the game.

Just my two cents
