There is a Los Angeles bias in the media. The first pass interference on the TD, was iffy. The idea that it was definitely not PI is absurd though. The DB definitely had his hand extended on Kamara pushing him forward and not allowing him to make a play on the ball. The one with Michael Thomas wasn't even debatable. It was an obvious PI. They are whining.

You have to have some luck to make it to and win the superbowl.

Re: Saints luckiest team I've ever seen

Also the argument that the pass was deflected , therefore not a pass interference is dumb. Yes, it was probably tipped, but he was grabbing him before the ball was tipped. At the very least it was a holding, but I think the receiver was being interfered with before the tip, while the ball was in flight.

So what. Luck is part of the game. It’s not like opposing teams fumbles are from just mishandling the football. We are making turnovers happen. We have had our share of bad calls. We have execute in crunch time to come up with clutch plays. Some may call it luck but everyone knows that championship teams find a way to win.

I suppose winning 13 games in one of the toughest schedules of any team is also luck?!?!

Coleman & Rankins were the 2 luckiest fellers out there today, I reckon. Its called coaching & hustling to the ball.

Bad call, yes, but a veteran DB like Haden should know where the back judge is and keep his hands down. AK definitely fell forward a little so in real time it probably looked clearly like PI.

Rams fans are pussies. They play a Div II schedule, lose to the only good teams they play and are still crying? F*** them

I forgot which play it was but we had a PI call on us that was horrible.

Re: Saints luckiest team I've ever seen

the 4-2 call against AK was legit. He was interfered with. Legit call

The call against hill for horse collar wasnt a good call.

Thge call in the end zone against AK was total BS. I would have went bananas had that been against us. I've seen **** calls like that against us in the past or specially Unnecessary roughness calls in the past that were total BS.

It happens. End of the day we were flagged three more times than they were. Refs didn't decide the game, but they had some missed calls

New rule in play for the horse collar... it's legit now, but not last year.

I don’t get how when this happens to anyone else the national media acts like they are terrified to say anything about the officiating yet when it happens to us it turns into a national scandal. Yea we got a few breaks but the officiating wasn’t nearly as bad as the Dallas game or the Falcons game last year when a ref used to play for the Falcons. It’s part of the game. At the end of the day the Steelers had every chance to win the game.
Now we are going to get some ****ty make up calls. And it’s not like they didn’t have any calls go their way.

I couldn't agree more.
In Dallas we saw blatant calls and almost lost AK on a head to head that wasn't called. But hey, we lost. We turned around and won the next 2 on the road.

Many in the Media and Steeler fans do not want to own the terrible fake punt fail, or when Rankins popped the ball out of Juju's hands forcing a fumble, or the earlier fumble, or the end of the 2nd quarter when the Saints marched down in 2 plays and scored a field goal, or the fact that the Steelers took the ball first instead of deferring to the 2nd half at coin toss, OR the fact that Steelers LOST to the Broncos AND the Raiders down the stretch! LMAO. Come on man, the Raiders?

I'll give the Steelers credit, they gave their best, but it wasn't enough. We scored 31 points on some team yesterday, and no one is giving the Saints credit for that.

We played 3 desperate teams in a row down the stretch, on the road back to back and went 2-1, and the only loss was 13-10 to a team we can definitely beat. Steelers had no business being desperate in the game yesterday. They had their division and playoff right in front of them at 7 and 2 and then they lost 4 of the next 5 games.

I have no sympathy for them.

Blandino commented on the horse collar call, 'the name plate or any area high above the collar that causes the player to buckle/collapse backwards is considered a horse-collar'..

The call was correct, the rule is bullsh1t.

Constantly causing turn overs is definitely luck and not good play.

I liked when the NFL front office made a Goodell phone call down to the zebras.

Dial up a drive stopping holding call - twice at the end
While Davenport was being held badly on every play

Does anyone else remember Howie Long's comments before the NFC Championship game against the Vikings? He said that when it's your year, it's your year, and you get all those little breaks your way. Kind of like Vikings turning the ball over 5 times that game.

Next series, on Eli Apple who had great coverage; gave Pittsburgh the ball in the red zone...

Anyone who can make these statements has no clue of the Saints history! We get a few breaks in 10 years but they forget the aints and that was for a long time!

Look at how "lucky" the Super Bowl winning team was. Good teams make their own luck. Those three 7-9 seasons two of them should have been (I can't believe I said that) double digit winners

TheOak 12-25-2018 02:05 PM

Re: Saints luckiest team I've ever seen

We had a HC suspended for a season, DC coordinator banned indefinitely, a GM suspended for 8 games, and multiple players with various suspensions.... for doing what has been doing on for decades across the league.

We catch the breaks...
