Teddy Bridgewater will start for Saints on Sunday

Saints head coach Sean Payton made the announcement on Friday afternoon that Bridgewater will lead the offense against the Panthers in the final regular season game of the year.
The Saints have already clinched the top seed in the NFL playoffs.

I really like the kid - I have no idea on Earth how we'd keep him as I expect he's going to get well-deserved offers to start for someone else regardless of how well he plays on Sunday. I'm gonna be pullin' for him though, so long as he doesn't end up in the NFC South.

Good! I changed my mind. Rest Drew as a statement to all that individual stats are not the goal - a ring is the thing!

Taysom Hill hasn't started a game yet as QB, has 64 yards passing.

I have $5 Drew gets his 8 yards against Carolina being utilized in one play like Hill has been for a shirt pass.

This is not a smart strategic move. With only 46 active players and trying to rest as many as possible, it's not a good idea to take a QB, run him for a series or two, then sit him. He's now occupying an active roster spot that won't play in the game again.

There's no reason for Brees to hit the field. Save that slot for another position so that someone else can get less reps.

I can’t believe anybody thought there was any chance of Brees playing.

add in the fact that the game in Carolina was very chippy, and this one could be much worse. I don't even #9 standing on the sidelines

I never said I was in favor of it, and my bet has nothing to do with smart strategic moves. Some here might argue that Sean Payton on occasion does the exact opposite of that. Remember Taysom Hill's floater into the endzone against Pittsburgh?

When your opponent knows all of the same smart strategies that you do, the only thing that's unexpected is the truly unexpected.

We are talking about the man that went with an onside kick after 1/2 time for the Super Bowl are we not?:bng:
