Josh is signed for his ability to block, not his ability as a pass catcher. If you ever watch him he is a really good run blocker

And he's not a bad pass catcher, either. He has the third best reception percentage on the team for receivers (WR's and TE's) with 14 or more targets at 66.7% (16 for 24), trailing only Thomas (85%) and Watson (76.1%). Meredith had the highest percentage being 9 for 10 (90%) at the time he was placed on IR.

ne he's not terrible. He is fairly athletic if you watch him on the TE screens. But his run blocking is something I began to notice this year

I agree. He is underappreciated in both aspects of his game and I am glad he'll be around for a few more years. He'll just continue to improve.

8.85 sounds like backup / role player money. That's fine. Hill hasn't shown the ability to be a #1.

He’s been playing on a 3yr/$7.1 million contract so it’s a nice little raise for a guy who by all accounts has done everything asked of him.

It's rather small because Paypal gets a large chunk of the 2% we get from the Josh Hill deal. Nonetheless, I still was able to buy the 3rd Lexus in December.

I'm hoping the Saints draft LSU senior and former Jesuit TE Foster Moreau. He is 6"6 250 and the best run blocking TE in the ccoutry. He has good hands, he's much more athletic and faster than people realize and he's a team captain. LSU rarely throws to the TE so we could probably get him as a late roundeer or free agent. I'm pulling hard for this one.

If we lose our tight ends coach to a head coaching job elsewhere, I hope the Saints consider hiring Ben Watson as tight ends coach, if he's interested in coaching. Ben has a ton of experience and he is a moral and ethical juggernaut. Very positive team and locker-room presence. He's a leader.

He'll be in high demand so be prepared to pay him.

I'd throw out a name like Jared Cook. A vet with past production and can mentor. I'll be surprised if many teams will be knocking down his door in FA.

Without Hagen I'm relying on you gentleman to let me know who was best at what positions. I don't watch college ball outside of Alabama because we play rugby on Saturdays. It's going to be a season where we probably lose a lot of coaches. Wherever we lose a coach I want a vet player coming in if we need a body.
