It's a drop kick. Still legal in the NFL. In slow motion it's possible to see that the ball actually hits the ground before the kicker contacts it.
It can be used to score the ball such as a field goal or extra point too. Doug Flutie's last career NFL play was a drop kick to score an extra point in New England. It's the only scoring NFL drop kick in the Super Bowl NFL Era. SFIAH |
