Foles

So if Brees hangs it up this year after winning the SB do we make a move for Foles? I wanted to draft him when he came out. He would be a long term solution and may save us a draft pick. I would be all over it.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'd like to lock up Bridgewater long term (at least 3-4 years), and see what he can do with the 1st team offense after some coaching from Payton and mentoring from Brees.

He'd likely be much cheaper than Foles, at this point, leaving cap space to put a good team around him.

There is no chance Brees "hangs it up" after this season ... win or not. He was interviewed by Reggie Bush on NFL Network live just a few weeks ago and said when asked whether he would retire if/when the Saints win the Super Bowl this season that he was "absolutely" returning because he has a lot more he is wanting to accomplish in his career.

I was never high on foles as a full time starter. Had that fluke year with only 2 ints and was really meh before and after. If i had to say if he reminded me of someone its case keenum but with more luck.

If Brees retires after this season that would leave us with $21 million in dead cap. Nick Foles will probably command a pretty nice contract. I don’t see us paying $20+ million to both Brees and Foles.

Brees will give us another two years win or lose

Drew's arm still look strong enough and he still has the touch. If nothing else he can manage the team for a couple of years. He still has more records to break and ensure that his records last.

Could'a Would'a Should'a

No guarantee he would have signed with the Saints...........

After a disappointing 2015 season with the Rams, Foles was eventually granted his release from the organization on July 27, 2016. Before he signed with the Chiefs on Aug. 3, Foles did some serious soul-searching.

During that week, he spent time talking to his wife Tori and then he leaned on his Christian faith to come up with his answer.

"I literally said a prayer," Foles said, "and my heart said go back."

Foles reunited with Andy Reid, the guy who drafted him in 2012 out of Arizona......He followed former KC offensive coordinator Doug Pederson to Philly
