What I'm Hearing

Just generally covering what I'm hearing on TV and the radio today is that the Saints are overrated - that we're done. Drew is too old to go deep, our run game stands no chance against LA's defensive front, the loss of Rankins has doomed our ability to stop their run game...etc, etc.

I hope our guys are listening, because if they're hearing what I'm hearing they'll have all the motivation they could possibly need for this Sunday.

Me? I think we're going to shock the world. Again.

Going deep is nice, but ain't required. That's why we had a over an 11 minute drive in the third quarter on Sunday. Just get the job done. It ain't got to be pretty or spectacular.

That actually plays right into our strengths (to me); It always seems we do better when less is expected. When all the pundits are on board, that's when I become most uneasy.

Tom Brady alluded to the very same thing...

Speaking of PUNdits did you know the largest Knight Of The Round Table was Sir Cumference? He got that way from eating too much Pi. I wondered why the football Lutz kicked kept getting bigger and bigger, then it hit me! There was the EGGSPURT who sent ten puns to friends, with the hope that at least one of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in-ten-did.

I have a really positive feeling about this one, which scares me. Our offense is due for a big game and I think the team is focused.

The talking heads .
It is best to be not favored and be the underdog.
Saints are.
It is best just ignore the commentators, bookies, etc.

Saints are that good.
They really had a super winnning season.
It was not luck.
Luck happens in football on a play here and there for all teams , but not enough to get a team this far.

L.A.Rams , with 54 pts in a game vs. KC with 51 pts in that game , will be very difficult.
Yeah.It is NFC Championship.
L.A Rams ARE NOT TAKING. The Saints for granted. Lol. You better believe it.

Also, N.EPats, The always favored team by media ARE NO WAY taking new comer Mahomes and KCC for play.

Re: What I'm Hearing

Ginn is ok at deep balls but it has to be gifted to him. He's not going to make a play on it like Hopkins. It has to damn near perfect. Brees can still chunk it, lacking some HP but he can get it where a play can be made most of the time. Brady is the one who is looking rough. James White has bailed him out all season.

If Peters continues to guess wrong on those boundaries, it's over for him.

The Saints are the best defense still standing in post season.

"Prove em right".

But don’t get too damn cute about it.

Re: What I'm Hearing

When we get the timing right on the Taysom-to-whomever-deep-post-sprint, all will be forgotten about Drew's sagging long-range capabilities.

Defenses must cover the run with Taysom accepting the snap, and when that burns them twice in one game we'll have all the momentum we need.

I kind of like the experts underestimating the Saints and then giving them more of an advantage at least as far as the element of surprise is concerned. It is a great position to attack from...staying just ever so slightly below the radar and then with a gameplan that emphasizes the Saints' strengths to their optimum levels. Very glad and grateful for the offensive alchemist and sometime Riverboat Gambler that occupies the Head Coach position for the New Orleans Saints! Geaux Coach Payton!

That said however, awesome is awesome and excellence is excellence so maybe I'll just try using the wise words below and let them be my mantra until kickoff on Sunday

Re: What I'm Hearing

Everything I'm hearing still sounds a little fuzzy and ringy, because the Dome was so darn loud last weekend. Looking forward to screaming some more at this game.

Goff is not gonna be able to hear a word of anything McVay says to him inside his helmet, PERIOD, and that's a big part of why they looked so good against the Cowboys, McVay was actually telling him what the defense was doing, on each play. They are gonna look like a much different team out there this week when the elaborate coach/QB communication they're used to gets garbled. Looking forward to hearing the announcer boom, AND THAT'S ANOTHER FAN IMPACT PLAY!!!

Re: What I'm Hearing

I keep hearing that because Talib is back, the Rams won't have a problem with Micheal Thomas. Just my opinion but that's just nuts. Talib is better than Peters but he's still not good enough to single up on Thomas.

First, Talib plays left corner. If the Saints don't like the match up, they'll play Thomas on the right side. Simple enough.
Secondly, Talib is a physical corner. He's got a great combination of speed and strength, but trying to out physical Thomas is a good way to lose a matchup.
Third, what're they gonna do about Ginn? Peters is not a fast corner. If Peters is left one on one with Ginn, Ginn's gonna get open deep and steal the poor boy's gumbo.

All in all, Talib being back is better for the Rams than if he weren't in but with or without him, the Rams secondary is still a liability.

We are a small market team and the NFL won't sell as much NFL paraphernalia if we win.....and Roger Godhell would choke giving the Lombardi to Coach Sean Payton.

Obviously the Patriots and Rams is who the NFL wants to play, but most Americans I believe would like to see the Saints and Chiefs to shake things up and also every body loves Drew Brees!

"SMALL MARKET" yet all the stadiums hold almost the same number of spectators. I live in Indy but am not a Colts fan.

EXPLAIN, SPOCK

What is the smallest NFL market?
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers are located in the smallest media market of any NFL, NBA or MLB franchise. But despite its small size — the city has a population of just more than 100,000 people — the games are regularly sold out.
