The aging of Drew Brees

Like a fine wine, he gets better with age.

People will say Drew’s arm is weak because of the 2 missed long throws. Devery Henderson would say there’s nothing wrong with Drew’s arm. I just think Drew sometimes underestimates Ginn’s and Devery’s speed.

That's what I thought when the pick happened.

A quarterback as smart as Drew who practices with these players daily knows exactly what kind of speed these receivers are capable. More likely he and Ginn just haven’t totally started to click again since Ginn came back from injury. Drew has never had a strong arm anyway. His age will show when his accuracy drops off.
He has dropped off since he came storming out earlier in the season. I personally think he may be a little banged up. I noticed early on there was something different about his play this year. He was playing angry. He was putting his body out there to make plays like I’ve never seen. He looked more determined than ever.

That pass to Ginn was less short than thrown every so slightly late. Drew had a thought and a half before he let it go and it should have only been a thought and a quarter. Drew's arm is fine. I think that is going to more than proven on Sunday.

Drew had another receiver in mind when he spotting Ted behind the coverage. He said he didn't get his feet planted right

The Taysom throw hung up way too long

Drew Brees is now a 40yo male with a reconstructed throwing shoulder - he doesn't have the arm strength he once had - period.

What Brees does have is, along with Tom Brady, one of the best minds on the field in his generation, other than Brady, there's no one in the league that can read and attack defenses better...

Brees is among the best ever in pre-snap read and analysis - upcoming and future generation players will try to emulate him in all aspects as a person and player...

That is what puts him in the GOAT conversation...

That is probably true. Brees has always been a QB that throws with his whole body, using the torque to launch the football. He HAS to have his feet planted right to make those really deep throws.
A guy like Favre or Staffor could just whip it with his arm because they have such rifles.

Needed to throw it a half second sooner
