Why does Roger Goodell continue to ignore the mess from Rams-Saints?
Hard to know where to start when discussing the eight-day-old officiating decision heard-round-the-NFL that played a major role in the Rams winning the NFC title game. I think we should start at silence … silence from the NFL, and from commissioner Roger Goodell, and (mostly) from vice president for officiating Al Riveron.

In the eyes of the nfl, the quicker it goes away the better, by addressing it, the wound will never scab. The last thing goodhell wants to do is address it publicly. He is a worthless, overpaid POS gluttonous CEO, like many who only cares about his wallet and the shield.

There is nothing to prevent this from happening again. What is the point of even playing the game. One rogue ref can ruin the game. Nothing has changed. He's not even remorseful for making the worse non call in the history of the game.

Goodell would make an excellent Congressman.

Re: Why does Roger Goodell continue to ignore the mess from Rams-Saints?
Goodell has failed to uphold the integrity of the game at a time when it was needed the most. He should be canned for running from the NFC championship debacle because the Super Bowl should have been protected. Not one more game should have been played without an end to any possibility of what happened to the Saints happening again.
If he's handling this with secret directives in secret meetings in smoke-filled rooms, that is unacceptable. This situation demanded public, forthright, and transparent leadership. The trust of the fans needed to be respected. He failed the game, and he failed us. All he had to do was add PI to reviewable calls according to the rules already in place for replay review. All he had to do was show the fans that he cares about the game we all love and that he is watching over it. And he needed to do that before he ran off to Atlanta to start the annual glad-handing of media week. THE game is way more important than A game, even if that game is a Super Bowl. I'm not saying the Saints should have been given an unprecedented second chance to play the game or play the end of the game. I understand you have to move on, but you have to move on with the intention of doing better. You have to care. The only thing Roger Goodell cares about is himself. He couldn't have done a better job of proving it. |

the reason goodell doesn't give a **** about the bad call in ram-saints game is the same reason he doesn't give a **** about the bad calls in saints-vikings
nfc championship game. They really helped you win over vikings and helped you lose to rams, grow up and deal with it. |

It doesn't deal with the actual problem. It pushes it on a player who, had nothing to do with that problem. The problem is still there and nothing in place to stop it from happening again. It ruins the game. |

It took Goodell nearly a month to break his silence on the Ray Rice Domestic Battery Coverup - remember, the NFL Office colluded with the Ravens in a cover it up???
You really think he was gonna address the public about a blown missed-call before his State of the League Address before the Superbowl?!? |
Re: Why does Roger Goodell continue to ignore the mess from Rams-Saints?
What has to happen for this guy to lose his job? His behavior and personality are way beyond the scope of just a greedy Corporate CEO. He displays behavior that one would associate with the mentally ill. His narcissistism and magical thinking is borderline looney. He has done absolutely nothing to better the NFL. He has failed to handle controversial issues , failed at making the game safer, and is rapidly ruining the integrity of the game. If ratings fall again like they did last year he won’t be here much longer. Unfortunately the people who have the most impact on his career is the fans. As long as fans keep tuning in, buying gear, spending money at away games, etc he will continue to ruin this game.
He is so transparent it’s laughable. All the helmet rules and changes put in place every year (especially pertaining to defense) isn’t about the players safety, it’s about speeding up the game and bringing more offensive shoot outs to the airwaves. It’s insulting to the players and the fans. |

I wasn't going to watch the Superbowl, but I'm thinking I might now, or at least the end of it. I want to watch 50,000 fans boo his good for nothing ass off the podium when he presents the trophy to the "winning" team. I hope they cover him up with beer cans, popcorn boxes, half eaten hot dogs, etc., and make leave the stage in fear. Is that wrong? Probably. I'm all out of give-a-****s for that POS.

For the same reason that OJ Simpson did not tirelessly cooperate with police in the investigation into the murder of his wife.
