Not to smart, now the NFL League Offices will come calling about not disclosing on the injury report...

Or...we're making excuses for not being a super-dynamic two first round pick selection...

Either way, not smart use of social media - see Thomas Morstead on proper etiquette...

If I'm not mistaken not every pain has to be reported on an injury report. You can be "healed" from an injury and have no hindrance to your ability to play and still play in pain and therefore not be listed. It sounds like this may be the case given his saying he was just playing through the pain. There are probably no players on a season long NFL roster that end the season at 100%. You can't list everyone for every ache and pain.

AG, he had surgery, he's in a hospital bed, and he's alluding to it affecting his performance - So it was significant. The 2017 NFL Personnel (Injury) Report Policy threatens Commissioner Punitive Action if not complied...

Now I've read through it and while one could make the arguments you're suggesting, you could equally make the argument that it was violated with this social media disclosure - and guess who decides?

Same a'hole and his stripped minions that committed no-call errors in the NFC Championship game; so have we learned nothing about exposing ourselves to the league's will?

I'm with you Bro, I'm invested with this team. But this rookie needs to keep this sh*t on the low-down. We've got leverage on the mother of all a'holes right now...

And this self-absorbed social media moment can give a lot of that away - follow Morstead's lead when it comes to social media...

I'm not disagreeing that he should be less "open" about this kind of stuff, but you can have surgery to correct issues that are not debilitating. Plantar fasciitis for example. After the initial injury you can get to a point where you are fully functional with rest, physical therapy, and the correct prosthetic, but you can still experience pain without surgery. I can testify to this as I have dealt with it for the past few months. Although, I am still hoping to avoid surgery, but I wouldn't be on an injury list for the past several weeks. It really hurts after extended use, but there's nothing I can't do.

Davenport was slowed down and not playing to his full potential. He had surgery to correct the issue. It happens all the time in the NFL. He simply informed his fans that he had not been 100% and was worth the investment.

Personally, I believe that he is going to be a force on the D-line for years and is well worth the cost!

Pre injury Davenport was ranked higher than all rookies (and a few vets) coming off the edge.

Get well soon Davenport.
