The only two owners in recent years who have been unhappy with him and stood up to him are Robert Kraft and Jerrah.

Say what you will about the Patriots, but when the Deflategate nonsense happened, Kraft stood up to Goodell and demanded him to put his money where his mouth was. Either prove your case or apologize to my team. I wish Benson would've reacted the same way when Bountygate happened. Kraft stood by his coach, QB and team, not putting up with any of the crap being spewed about them. This made me really respect Kraft.

Jerrah has had issues with Goodell over the suspension of Elliott, but as usual, Jerrah is all talk and no walk. For all his big talk, it amounted to very little.

Outside of those two, no other owners have stood up to him over anything.

Any dummy could run the NFL. Jeb Bush turned the job down so that says a lot about what caliber of person it takes. Best chance of him being axed is with TV contracts. When those start drying up he'll be fired. Starting to happen. Emerging streaming markets is going to kill everyone in the end. Streaming doesn't work well with live sports due to the delay. Cable TV is also declining. Every quarter it keeps tanking. They don't have the revenue to pay the NFL anymore.

Goodell will have a job until the owners as a unanimous group want him out. As you can see during his employment so far, embarrassing himself, the league and other owners individually isn't enough to achieve that.

Owners care about 1 thing 99% of the time. Money. As long as league revenues continue to increase then they overlook the 1% of other things they could care about. Goodell has been successful at creating new sources of league revenues and profiting more off of existing ones. Crap like London and other neutral site games increased revenues. Adding Thursday night games and bringing Sunday night games away from just ESPN to mainstream network airing increased revenues.

While these are examples of increasing revenue they are obviously contradictory to player safety as there simply is no defense that playing a game on less rest or having to spend two days travelling internationally could have anything but a negative impact on player safety. Owners and the league are happy to overlook anything including common sense and decency when it comes to making money.

The only way Goodell is no longer commissioner is when he no longer wants the position or when the public tells the NFL, through a boycott in their spending, that they no longer wish to support the product. Fans need to get fed up with the way he is changing the sport into something less desirable, get sick of his lies and deception to the fans and players, ridiculous and unethical abuses of the authority of his position and just in general turning the league into a dysfunctional entity. When that day comes and people stop watching games, stop buying products and just punch the owners square in the wallet, we might see a change. Until then, enjoy watching Roger ruin the NFL and the game of football more.

Did anyone else find it laughable that the new Alliance league is already major steps past the NFL in terms of officiating protocols and resources utilized in mere seconds?

Kraft may have stood up to him but Tom Brady was suspended four games, Patriots fined $1 million and docked two draft choices as 'DeflateGate' punishment.

Kraft took it to court. The suspension was originally thrown out entirely, only to be re-instated by Goodell acting as supreme leader.

So technically, yeah, he did show him by taking it to court.

Patriots still won the Super Bowl that year. They've won three since Deflategate, forcing that smug clown to hand over the Lombardi to Kraft on the podium while being booed endlessly.

Realistically I think it takes a large majority of owners votes to remove him, but also a large majority to approve his next contract. So his weakness comes when his contract expires, which unfortunately is not for like 5 years.
