Brown, Brown, and Beasley

I did not want Antonio Brown, but think John Brown or Beasley would be instant upgrades at WR.
9 million a year for each tho? Damn....

Maybe bring in Tate for two years until we get some picks again

Probably end up with someone like Crabtree and Rishard Matthews

Watched Crabtree last season and to me he looked so slow on the field. We need quicker guys like Tate.

I agree but can you see the Saints paying Tate what Humphries got paid? Because I doubt he accepts less than that

If Tate want's to play for like 10 mil per year then that is reasonable price for his talent and Saints should offer him 3 year deal. But I think other teams would pay him more and probably he will get 12-13 mil per year contract.

That money needs to go to Michael Thomas and another complimentary player.....maybe a tight end!

To be fair elite slot WR is also complimentary weapon who will help our offense tremendously.
Average players are getting paid big time and that is the reality with cap going up and thanks to some teams with ton of cap space who are wiling to overpay. Better players deserve more money. That's how it is.

I mean, player who can't run a single route just got 5 mil annually from Chicago Bears. (Paterson)
What's the market value for Tate and other legit WRs...

Meredith. Bryant. Kirkwood. Smith. Thomas. Ginn

Guys we HAVE good wide receivers. Our issue was injuries.

Meredith has a history with injuries, something many of us were concerned about when he first signed.

Bryant is washed up and no one wanted him last year. We only signed him as an act of desperation. He was out of shape and immediately suffered a major injury after the signing. He's not the same player he was 5 years ago. There is a reason that Dallas didn't want him back despite being so thin at WR last year and there is a reason no other team wanted him 8 weeks into the season until coach SP realized how badly we needed WRs and went for him.

I don't remember Kirkwood making any impact at all last year.

Smith was a rookie last year and could make a big leap forward this year.

Ginn has speed, but was never a top receiver in all his career.

Last year's Saints had the worst WR corps of any Sean Payton team. They are the real reason we didn't reach the SB (bad non-call aside, I don't think we would've beat the Pats with our offensive struggles).

Outside of Michael Thomas, we didn't have a single other receiver to strike fear into teams. Dallas figured it out and showed the world the blueprint to stopping our offense - shut down Kamara and Thomas, and try to make Brees beat you with a cast of no-names. We didn't have a single game last year with the offense firing on all cylinders without Thomas or Kamara (or both) having monster production in those games. All our games where the offense was explosive, those two were the driving force. If it weren't for our defense stepping up and playing so well, we probably wouldn't have won another game after that nightmare in Dallas. The offense was not the same and it all comes down to not having enough weapons at WR to take the pressure off Thomas and give Brees another target to throw to. Brees stats tanked at the end of the year when the offense was exposed and they simply never got their groove back. Fixing the offense is top priority.

Yep.

I read (Spotrac) he will command 14M per year . If this is accurate, probably won't see him signing with New Orleans.

Once slot guy James Crowder got paid, I had a feeling it would inflate the WR market.

Respectfully disagree with almost everything you stated. My point was injuries doomed us - Meredith, Bryant, Ginn, Dural. But we HAVE talent on the roster. Both Kirkwood and Smith should make the leap. Dez and Meredith will be in the mix. If everyone is healthy enough to be on the field we’ll have one of the better receiving rosters in the league.

Agree, Kirkwood made some crucial catches last year and it was a shame he missed the NFCCG with a calf injury. Could have been the difference maker. Both he and Smith should be better this year.

This may sound weird but I had more confidence in undrafted Kirkwood than Tre' for 2018. He just didn't seem right. Hopefully it's a mental thing that he's over.

I still believe in Cameron Meredith. Hopefully his knee is right & he has a solid camp.

Side note - we still need a TE or slot WR. A chain mover in crucial moments. IMO TLL and Carr are wasted roster spots.

I had the same feeling on Tre vs Kirk.

IF Meredith is healed, he can be the nightmare match up in the seam we've been missing.

Unpopular opinion but I'd like to see Dez back in New Orleans to battle it out in camp

I often wonder if Dez would have been that "missing piece" in the NFCCG ? Gotta believe he would have made some sort of impact late in the 4th when everything was on the line.

God Bless him but TLL had no business being on the field late in that game.

Barring medical setbacks I believe we're fine at WR. Won't be mad if we draft Riley Ridley at 62
