We weren't that far off. That one hurts but I can't say I'm surprised.

Savings of 600K signing Murray. Doesn't look worth it for us but who knows. Maybe he was ready to leave. He'll be the starter over there.

Although I'm sorry to see MI go, I think Murray will do a good job!

Thank you for being such a great team mate and leader. Roll Tide! I will definitely miss your presence on and off the field. Having said that Kamara is the feature back and Murray looks like a good replacement.

Exactly. Kamara is the fastball, Murray is the changeup.

I hate this. If the money wasn’t as close I wouldn’t feel so bad. The locker room is going to suffer. I have a feeling he kept Kamara and Thomas in check. Hope we don’t wind up with a couple of divas.

Who thinks that when the Saints signed Murray the Ravens price went down?

Re: Ingram makes it official with Ravens

so much for the 8 million people were talking about...
this is disappointing

$5 mill per was exactly what Sproles was making when he was cut

I believe that is the case here. Price was higher until the Saints dropped out of the bidding by signing Murray, after which Baltimore maybe reduced their offer.

I am a MI fan. I love guys who play with heart. Good luck Mark!

This is what I mean. I have ZERO problem believing his camp's number could have been significantly higher than Murray which is why the Saints moved first.

Yall ever thought Ingram was tired of being 1b to Kamara? I know they got along and all but he will be relied on more with BAL and get more carries.

So this means we get a compensatory pick?

Rumor is Saints offered Ingram $4.5M

No idea the details and guaranteed money yet.

At least the Saints will only have to play him every 4 years.

I’m starting to agree. Especially if the Bridgewater deal doesn’t get done. I would think they would make damn sure Bridgewater was going to sign before not matching the money Ingram got. Not liking FA so far.

We are damn lucky Ingram didn’t go to Atlanta. They let Coleman go and are looking for a back like Ingram.

Yeah I have definitely noticed Thomas has been a little cocky lately.

Dude's one of the top WRs in the NFL at AGE 25! Of course he's cocky...LOL

Ingram's deal was three years. Murray was a four year deal. Big difference in per year $.

This would be the only way that it is justified on our part. Damn!

The rumor is Ingram's agent screwed up. He tried to bluff Loomis into given up more money and Loomis called his bluff.

Re: Ingram makes it official with Ravens

I for one am not overly disappointed. I remember MI being in the dog house, for complaining about his number of carries a few years back. He only gave real effort when pushed. A change will be good for his effort as was bringing in Peterson and drafting Kamara. He was clearly the lesser back the last two years but did manage to be friendly. Payton got the most out of him by pushing right buttons. He definitely had talent but Payton had to pull the production out of him. So we got some good use out of MI, (and thanks)but like I said, not OVERLY disappointed. Would not have been disappointed if we resigned him at fair price either. Frankly though, looks like win for Mark. He’s out of Kamara’s shadow and should be motivated this year. We’ll see about the next one after that.

100% agree here.

I think people forget too that MI was never as consistent as Kamara has been these two years.

Ingram would have a really stand out game one week, then barely do anything the next week when your expectations are high.

I knew he was gone after these last two years he was out-played by Kamara in all 4 of our playoff games. I really don't remember Ingram having anything note-worthy in any of those playoff games he started. The Panthers and Vikings both had completely shut him down in the 2017 playoffs.

I heard this as well. I believe it was Detillier who gave an explanation yesterday that really made sense. Basically what you said, his agent effed up.

If that's the case I think it sucks for both sides. I just don't think you can quantify locker room presence. But what do I know?!
