Saints Going To Jared?
1 Attachment(s)
The New Orleans Saints are hosting top free agent tight end Jared Cook for a visit, according to an NFL Network report.
Cook, who made the Pro Bowl with the Oakland Raiders last season, is scheduled to visit with the Saints Thursday (Mar. 14) according to the report. https://www.nola.com/resizer/3Nf5kU6...C4TWRSBLUA.jpg Earlier this month at the NFL combine, coach Sean Payton identified tight end as a position the Saints would look to address in the offseason after their top pass catcher at the position, Ben Watson, retired following the 2018 season. more on NOLA |

Best of a bad TE group I guess.
Not overly enthused but we need something |
Re: Saints Going To Jared?
While most players get a bump playing with Brees and in this offense, his pedestrian play will not justify the money that will need to be spent...
We had a top five offense with the guys we have sans Ben Watson, and Watson's age limited his snaps, production, play-making... Was discussing with Rez last night on the FA Thread that I just don't see Cook being that productive after being the only receiving option for Oakland all of last season... |
Re: Saints Going To Jared?
I think it’ll be fine. I don’t have any issue with signing him.

Re: Saints Going To Jared?
I have not watched him play but his high lights looked good with nice down the field catches. Ya'll know more than I do......which was watching last years high lights that Smash posted. Thanks Smash!

Cook is a high level TE that we could desperately use in SP's offense. When I've watched him play, I see a more athletic Jimmy Graham. He had a career best last season ... just like the other guy we signed on defense (Demario Davis) in 2018. I hope the Saints can find a way to sign Jared. |
Re: Saints Going To Jared?
I was hoping for CJ Uzomah but he did get a fairly big contract. We have no TE production whatsoever. We have to pull the trigger here. Another year of Thomas and Kamra is not going to cut it.

Stole my thunder on that I believe he looks better after catch than graham ever was. And in this offense he may make a pro bowl. |
Re: Saints Going To Jared?
If we can somehow get him and Ziggy this has been a successful offseason

Amari Cooper was giving no effort as he was trying to get traded? That left Cook. He was the only legit receiving option last year for the Raiders... And only one after Amari was traded... He had 6 ReTDs on the year... That's pretty sh*tty production when you're the primary receiving threat... |

Do you want to really fork over money for a complementary role player when Josh Hill can already give you 6 ReTd? And Dan Arnold probably will end up with 6 ReTds as well? Plus you're gonna have Ginn back healthy, Tre'Quan and Kirkwood will be +1 year from a rookie season... If we sign a Tight End, spend to get one who can block better than what's on the roster now, or hope Foster Moreaux falls to us on Day 3... |
