Why did Teddy Bridgewater turn down a starting job to stay with the Saints?

It’s pretty well known that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross loves Tua Tagovailoa and wants the team to do what it takes to get him next year. Why would Teddy agree to be a one-year bridge QB?

There it is. Ross is gonna Tank for Tua, League Office is doing nothing about it...

Payton's already promised the job to Teddy and I've a serious problem as Bridgewater should have to earn the job every day...

...just as Brees justifies his contract every day (no one's worth $20mil, but he does more than anyone the league to justify it)...

Payton has a history of coming out with these Competition Street BS themes, when all along he's got a plan and knows who he likes and where...

So what does that tell guys like Taysom who're doing what it takes now for the team on the promise they'll get a legit chance to compete?

Older veterans are seeing through the BS now. You're gonna see a few more retirements, trades as Payton's rah-rah locker room speech becomes empty, again...

Got to get a new GM. That GM and the owner needs to light a fire under Payton's ass, by putting him on the same year-to-year deal like many of the players; then you'll see a marked improvement in his performance...
