I'd disagree. The ability to be available is a very big deal. Jairus Byrd was a highly regarded free agent safety - was he worth the money? Most fans would agree quickly that he wasn't...
Spending the draft capital of two first round picks in one player is comparable; and on a team where a head coach would be accountable, that HC better hope that player is available to justify it... Davenport is a fine player, hopefully he's at full health this season; but he wasn't worth two first round AND one fifth round pick. |
