Red McCombs to invest in Saints?!
 

Some people remain convinced that Red McCombs will use some of the $600 million he received from the sale of the Vikings to become a major investor in the New Orleans Saints and try to move them to San Antonio, where he resides.

i don't expect it. i think they will stay in new orleans as long as new orleans plays ball. i don't think that means they need to agree with everything benson wants but they should be willing to give a little further and he should be willing to reduce some of what he is asking. meet in the middle

We brought this up in a different thread... but notice the didn't credit specific source. So could be someone just making things up. The other points were... Benso will not share ownership of the Saints! He wouldn't share it with GM Mueller! He has every intention to handing the team over to his family members who are in the organization as it is. I also don't think the NFL owners would approve it either.

I don't think the NFL Owners would approve it as well. If any team moves, it will be to L.A.

Yeah but I don't see a team moving to LA anytime soon. Sure the NFL would like to have a team there but its more of a negociation ploy the NFL uses to get better contracts for its current teams... "give us this or will move". Vikings, Saints, and chargers that I know of are using this tactic.

yes and i agree from what i saw about benson he said he was handing the team over to his daughter. he said he didnt care what anyone offered him for the team he wouldnt sell. he said even if it was for 1 billion

All speculation, none of this is ever going to happen, well not for another 50 years anyway after the state finds the way to pay the Saint's, we will all be dead before they ever leave New Orleans.
