New Orleans Saints 2019 NFL draft outlook: Tight ends

1 Attachment(s)
Going into the offseason, tight end was one of the top needs for the New Orleans Saints, but they seemed to have filled it by signing Jared Cook.

The addition of Cook continues a trend of the Saints seeking tight end help with veteran free agents, something they did in recent years with Coby Fleener and Benjamin Watson. The hope, though, is that Cook can make the same impact in New Orleans as he did with the Raiders last season when he had career highs of 68 catches for 896 yards and six touchdowns.

Foster Moreau, LSU

If this kid falls to the 5th, I'd select him. Coach "O" really didn't utilize him up to his potential in Baton Rouge. Foster could end up as the 2018 version of George Kittle (HC Kyle Shanahan had a great plan for him in that offense) of the 49ers.

I'm liking Mack (6th or 7th) or Sternberger/Warring if they fall past the 4th.

Beck from the Longhorns could work out. He's a willing blocker, solid system guy. Might even be able to get him in first series of UFA.

With Cook in the fold I like our tight end potential. Hill is a good blocker and catches easy passes well. Also, Dan Arnold looks the part to my untrained eye. So, a later developmental draft pick is fine with me because we have very good position coaches who know how to develop talented players.

Draft for the trenches......preferably the O-line!

Actually, Garrett Griffin really came on when we needed TE reps at the end of the season; and he can handle LS duties...

We’ve shown a lot of interest in Dax Raymond (Utah St).
