it seemed pretty early on in the OS he wasn't part of the plan, for whatever reason

Not sure what money Davison's camp was asking from the Saints, but it's of little consequence as the Saints spent on Malcolm in the Middle; but I thought he was a very good defender in a solid rotation...

100% agree with this.

In the era where the rules are bent to give offenses such an edge, defensive players at every position have never been more important than now.

That's the way I'd do it - outside of professional sports, especially MLB, how many folks get guaranteed contracts?
