Been hearing the Dallas rumors for years. I wasn't even married when we first started hearing them. Makes me feel young again!

Not much negotiation needs to be done. There will be a contract with two spaces. One for him to sign on and the other for him to fill in the amount.

He ain't going nowhere. He would have to start his legacy all over again and it might not come out the way he wanted it next time around.

Something that makes me wonder....

How come none of Payton's assistances are ever hot picks during the off season to replace coaches?

Teams were jumping up and down to find the next Sean McVay interviewing young guys and people from McVay's coaching staff, but Carmichael has been here for years I would think he has a lot more experience than guys like Matt LeFluer and that young guy that the Bengals hired.

I would've thought by now that there would be members of Payton's coaching staff getting jobs elsewhere.

I look at Sean Payton as a guy that began his head coaching career as trying to make a splash, trying to end up at the big franchise, dominate the league... make all kinds of money etc. I think New Orleans gave him something that he never really knew he even wanted: a family and a home. I believe he really does bleed black and gold.

There are Saints assistants who get interviews, quite frequently, but I personally think a lot of the outside interest in our assistant coaches kinda died down after the year when Coach Payton was suspended for the whole season and we sucked so bad. I mean in that situation it was really obvious for everyone to see.
