6-6 220 out of Arkansas Razorback country... from Norway.

Apparently a kicker converted to DE... another kicker from that part of the world to the Saints.

A 220 lbs DE??? Yeah, he only needs to add 60 or 70 pounds. And there's a position that we are really thin at, so that's good. :x

No - I think he was saying that if a person (i.e. Akerstrom) was "that thin" (i.e. 220 lbs) while at DE, you'd have to be smoking something (either to get that thin or to play the position at that size).

This is a program of bringing in players from Europe... we sent players to develop in the NFLE and now they are sending players from there to develop in the NFL now, is what this is all about.

Akerstrom will spend the entire season on the Saints' practice squad and cannot be cut or activated. The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder played for the University of Arkansas and for NFL Europe's Frankfurt Galaxy.

Joined the Galaxy in Week 5. Akerstrom, who hails from Oslo, was a walk-on kicker at the University of Arkansas who got bigger and stronger with each passing season and became a valued member of the school's football team at the defensive end position.
